Watch This! Catholic Schoolgirls In Love
When I was a teenager I was massively into anime and as I grew older I sort of got out of that and now I mainly read manga which is pretty similar in my mind since most anime is based off of manga. I'm just reading the source material instead of watching the animated version of it. Anyway! I do watch anime series when they've been heavily recommended by my friends and Maria-sama ga Miteru was pimped like crazy by everyone I knew.

oneiric22 forced me to watch it when we went to what? Anime Central? BTW, I'm still somewhat peeved that I go to that convention for years and years then the year I get all my various pals to go with me is the year they switch management and it sucks. I'm cursed or something. Oh well, we still had fun.
Maria-sama aka Marimite now has a fourth season being released in Japan and thanks to the wonders of the interwebs and Tokyo Toshokan having quick release on torrents and fansubs you can watch it as it comes out. For those who aren't fans of anime and don't know about Marimite I guess I'll try to sum it up.

But it's not perverted, I swear! It's the cutest most sweet series you'll ever watch and the characters are so huggable. Here's the thing though. If you're someone who expects a fast cracky pace and tons of sexing up then this isn't for you. It's all about emotional connections and romance and girly crushes. I highly recommend this series just because I don't know one person who has seen it that doesn't love it.
My icon is of one of the main characters, Sachiko, who is the rich girl princess type who seems cold but she's in reality the most devoted person ever and is just a bit socially awkward and misunderstood. She gets paired up with cutesy cute normal girl Yumi and they are so much adorable together.

Sachiko: Please dress in drag for our play, Yumi. Do it for me.
Yumi: I didn't want to do it but you're epically pretty and I worship you so yes!
Touko: I'm grumpy, the people in my acting club are philistines.

Touko: I'm freaking out but grumpy reticent style because I'm cool like that.
Yumi: Holding hands is fun, isn't it?
Touko: Too... fucking... cute...
Yumi: We look like we're getting engaged!
Touko: Garrr... must escape... the cute...
Yumi: I'm following you all not subtle like.
Touko: Stop following me, the cute! I'm trying to escape.
Shimako: We never get screentime but we totally make out off screen.
Noriko: Our love is site seeing Buddhist temples and churches.
