I Am The Lesbian Miss Cleo

Not really. But it makes for a good title! Anyway, the reason I'm posting that as the subject line is I watched the premiere for South of Nowhere tonight and everything I thought would happen did! I'll cut the rest of this off for people not so fond of spoilers...

First off, I will totally admit I didn't see Clay's death coming and I think that's the worst thing they could have done. I mean, why the fuck not kill Glen? No one likes him! I did however see the whole Spencer/Ashley break up and Ashley still being in love with Spencer but consequently boinking Aiden out of loneliness or just fucked up decisions. Now don't get me wrong, I love Ashley and her adorable attempts at being butch and tough but I never thought she was good girlfriend material and a separation with Spencer is really needed. Not only for character growth but for Ashley to actually get what a good thing she had with Spencer.

Plus I'm strangely already fond of the new love interest Spencer will have during the rest of the season. I'm sure I'm one of the few people who like the character of Carmen. People in fandom get so fucking rabid with their ships and get this warped idea relationships are fictionally destined and characters who start together in a show must remain together. Tibetters from L Word are a good example of this. I'm someone who welcomes a change, especially if the characterization is done well. And South of Nowhere, unlike L Word sadly, has proven itself capable of coming up with excellent new characters with depth.

Therefore I'm looking forward to Spencer and Carmen. Here are some YouTube imbedded promos that give a hint of what they might be like as a couple.

Come on! Carmen is adorable punker 80's girl with pink earrings. You must like. lol. Well, I do anyway. Before I go I offer one last link. This time a song which appears in one of the South of Nowhere previews. I liked it so much I downloaded it and now I must simply share.
