I Evaluate Well
So my trainer has to do weekly evaluations on me for the first six months of my training, right? I've always gotten consistent 4's on almost everything, which is proficient, and a few 5 and 6 scores. The only thing I suck at is hearing and comprehension which I get a score 3 on which is sufficient but could use improvement. Meaning I can hear and understand 70-80% of the radio traffic but I get baffled once and awhile.
Anyway! I had another evaluation meeting with my trainer today and she told me that I've made vast leaps and bounds this week. I'm finally at score 4 on my hearing comprehension and I'm able to dispatch assignments, careless and imprudent calls, and handle traffic stops with score 6 proficiency. I'm seriously so happy about this. When I first got back from Jefferson City I was so doubting I could do this job and if I wanted to do the job because of how crappy the training experience was.
Right now I feel like I have a really excellent chance of being good at this job. Of course, I have tons of room for improvement but I don't feel nearly so overwhelmed and I can't say how great it feels to have one of the Troopers call in a traffic stop and he's rattling off his location, the license plate, subject's last and first name, dob, and all the rest and I can get that info into CAD in thirty seconds or less and have the response read back to him before a full minute has passed. Unless it's something fucked up like a warrant or DOR is down and we can't get a response back.
I've found a really great Swedish singer named Frida Snell recently and my job happy self wants to share one of her songs with any people who read this dinky thing. Hope you enjoy!
