Femslash 4 Fans: Saying Goodbye

Allaine is ending his web radio show, Femslash 4 Fans, and I've been invited to be on one of the last of episodes. I'm sad to see it ending but I'm happy he asked me to be a part of it. If you want to listen to me babble the show starts at 10 pm EST Thursday, June 20th, and I'll be on at 10:45 pm.

Now that F4F has not only marked its fourth anniversary of being on the air, but also entered its final month of broadcasting, we’ll be spending all of June celebrating that which made this program great. Don’t worry, no self-congratulation here, of course I’m talking about the guests. Once Upon A Time

I love my job (mostly) and I definitely love it more than any other job I've had but the constant travel makes it hard to write fic. I have started to write a fanfic for Once Upon A Time for the Mulan/Aurora ship. I really couldn't help it, I love them too much. It occurs after episode nine where they search for a way to restore Phillip's soul to his body.

Ohtori Meets Lillian

I've plotted out an alternate universe crossover fic where after the events at Ohtori, Juri enrolls at Lillian as a second year and immediately catches Youko's attention. It's basically what if you take out Sachiko and dropped Juri into her place. And yes, it would involve Juri/Yumi. I just really love the idea of this (not because I dislike Sachiko) because the reasons Youko took in Sachiko would be tenfold with Juri plus... I love the idea of Juri being around such good people.

I totally put her and Rei as BFF's and for Sei to far prefer teasing Juri over Yumi just because it riles up Yumi to no end. Of course, Sei and Juri have to bond over their various Shiori woes. I'll hopefully start writing it out soon. It will be a fluff fest.

Avengers Genderswitch

I'm in the process of writing the outline for a fairly long one-shot that involves genderswitched Steve Rogers/Tony Stark aka Stephanie Rogers/Toni Stark. Problem is, other than my personal accounts I'm not sure where to post it... I imagine there are some genderswitch communities but most femslash communities tend to not accept these kinds of fics.

So, any suggestions for good communities on LJ or DW to post this fic? It's strangely fun to write. I'm going with the idea that Stephanie Rogers was enlisted nurse and worked with Dr. Erskine and when Nazis saboteur attacked she ended up going through the process rather than let the work be stolen or destroyed. I'm writing with the angle of her history as a combat nurse and being enlisted as a large influence on her personality.

Anyway. I think it'll be a good fic when I'm done, just need to know where to post.

Why is 95% of it AU when it has such a well developed and awesome canon universe to work in? I don't know why there are so many Fate and Nanoha are normal high school girls fic out there. I mean, if you want to write that... just have them in school still and not working. They do have periods of time in between missions. Good fanfic is hard to find.

I know fanfic is serious business for some people, I mean, I've been known to get pissy about things sometimes but I just got linked (for whatever reason) to this irate person reviewing my old Ranma 1/2 fanfic. I wrote this stuff when I was 16. I'm 33 now.

It's 17 year old fanfic and this guy is ranting and raving about how horrible it is and... I'm just baffled. I can see reviewing current fanfic but why dig out stuff that's long dead? I'm curious where he found it. I think I mention on my personal website I consider my anime fanfic to be pretty much crap. I forget my exact wording. It's more delicate I imagine.

This stuff really shows my fandom age.

Nightwish: Imaginaerum

Anette Olzon replacing Tarja Turunen as the lead singer of Nightwish has been a wanked about and much debated things in symphonic metal circles but personally, I like her sound. Dark Passion Play was a kick ass cd even if it was a bit more commercial than Nightwish' usual stuff.

Nightwish just released their second cd with Anette, Imaginaerum, and if you want to give it a listen you can download it HERE.

I'm a bit undecided. I love Anette's vocals like mad and I think their single, Storytime, is awesome. I'm also fond of I Want My Tears Back and Song of Myself. I have to admit that I do find Within Temptation's new cd, The Unforgiving, to be more kick ass.

Then again, Sharon den Adel has always been my favorite symphonic metal singer hands down. She's made of the fierce. How can you not love her?

WB Shop is having a major sale on its dvds and after years of meaning to I've finally gotten the complete series for Babylon 5 (including the tv movies) for $72 which is sixty dollars cheaper than anywhere else.

Hatoful Boyfriend

I love that Katie indulges/shares my curiousity of oddities. Also that she's up for playing whatever weird game is created out of the ether. Was recently reminded of the hilariousness that is Hatoful Boyfriend and the drama that is pigeon love. Mac version doesn't work that well so I got Katie to download the game onto her laptop. It's seriously cracking me up.

I think we have to go for Sakuya. Got to dig that fanned tail. Then again, knowing my experience with Katie playing Choice of Games: Romance we'll probably end up arguing over our pigeon romantic interest. Is it sad I find this stuff fun to do with my gf? Whatever. I should find other dating sims to play with her.

Where's Diana when you need her? lol. Ironically my fanfic for her and Lois has been completely plagiarized by someone called Avalonofthewind on ff.net. I posted a review calling them out on it and PM'd them but I doubt they'll respond.

ETA: The fic has been taken down. User claims that their page was hacked and it was posted by someone else. Sounds fishy to me but what I wanted was done. Hopefully the fic doesn't show up somewhere else.

Lock It In Your Pocket

And so on goes the Pretty Little Liars theme song. I finally caught up on the new season and just in time since it started back up again. Strangely, I have the desire to write a not really all that romantic at the start fic for Aria and Spencer where they have a drunken night of making out and groping which leads to a serial cheating sex relationship which A eventually outs them for and then they finally decide to go out. lol. It's a backwards relationship and totally not fluffy romance like I wrote Emily/Spencer. I think it suits Aria and Spencer though.

Contemplating it so hard. They are super cute together. After all, Spencer is a freak and Aria loves her and Aria is tiny and Spencer loves her. What more do I need really.

Choice of Games

Just got back from Wisconsin with Katie. Had a great time with her enormous family during Christmas. During our drive back I played around on my laptop and found this choose your own adventure type game that Katie and I played. It's called Choice of Games: Romance and the sequel is Choice of Games: Intrigue. It's basically like... magic/adventure/Harlequin choose your own adventure in Spanish court type of thing.

Katie and I had a blast playing it on the way home. Although we kept bickering about which suitor to choose. She was all about the Queen and I sort of liked de Mendosa. Anyway! If you like romances as much as I do it's a fun game to play.
