I can't sleep and I'm sure that unconciously it's not just my fucking incurable insomnia at work but instead some level of deep rooted nervousness over the job interview I have tomorrow morning for an administrative position at one of the largest printing companies in St. Louis. The nervousness comes mostly because of the sort of doomed feeling I've developed as I've always been 1) Shot Down or 2) Almost Made It in terms of going after the jobs that I really want. Even when I KNOW the interview went great and they loved me I always get the, "We're still looking so we'll give you a call at the end of the week."

Rightttttt.

I've never had a chick do that to me after a date but potential employers do it to me all the time after interviews. Often enough to turn me into the atypical example of a fucking bitterly rejected woman who stares at the phone silently commanding it to ring and then imploding internally with rage when it doesn't. Except I'm not bitter about finding romance and great people to date. I'm bitter about the chances of getting a fucking job I'm qualified for and would actually enjoy to some degree. I can get a retail or customer service management job in seconds because of my experience and my personality but I don't want those jobs. It sucks to be great at something and sort of hate that you're great at it. lol. So cliche lesbian self loathing. I despise it.

Anyway! I can't sleep so I'm watching Romancing The Stone on FX and my god, I forgot how fucking funny and great this movie is. There's something truly brilliant about combining the traits of a Harlequin romance novel with Indiana Jones that is just pure gold. Plus when you put in Kathleen Turner with her too sexy rasping voice it gets all the better. If you don't know the movie here's a nifty info page on it from Movie Rewind:

For all those Peggy Peabody fans, Holland Taylor is briefly in the movie as Kathleen Turner's publisher and per usual she's hilarious and kicks oh so much classy ass.
