Driving to Waldenbooks to see if they had Sensual Phrase vol. 15 I got the idea for an L Word fic. It would take place in the future, years after Dana's death and Helena having moved from LA to London.
During the hook up with Lace there's this long period of almost but not quite romance between Helacious and the tension it creates gets to the point that Helena can't take the situation anymore and leaves LA.
Simply because Alice knows of Helena's feelings, Helena having made them clear, and out of fear Alice just plain refuses to acknowledge the obvious attraction and love they share. Just because she can't bear the thought of loving someone as much as Dana, which is how she feels for Helena, and then losing them as well. Years later, Alice is doing a book tour and Helena comes to one of the book signings. Causing them to renew their friendship and their romantic feelings to resurface as they spend time with each other in London.
If I write this it's going to be a really short fic just because I can't bring myself to write a huge fic right now. I'm wondering how good it would be if it's short though? I'm thinking maybe thirty pages at the maximum. Possibly twenty. The song that totally inspired this fic idea is A Day Late by Anberlin and most likely I'll take the fic title from the lyrics.
