I'm home sick with the flu or some other annoying ass virus that's made me barf constantly since four a.m. but playing on the internet during one of my improved non-barfing stages made me find something truly awesome that has me super excited. Death Note the movie!
For those who are unaware, I'm a total manga nerd. I buy at minimum one manga a week and six manga a month. Yeah, I have a lot of them. At least a thousand if not more. And one of my favorite mangas is Death Note which is about a bored Japanese God of Death who drops his notebook and an equally bored genius named Light who finds it. How the book works is pretty simple. You write someone's name in it and they die. Always of a heart attack unless you specify an exact scenario.
Being a genius, Light decides he'll use the book for something truly grand, creating a new world. He immediately starts killing criminals all over the globe and people soon give him the name of Kira and begin talking of him as if he were a god. Which, in a strange way, he sort of is. This has an instant effect as the crime rates diminish rapidly everywhere as people are scared of this unknown being who they know will kill them if they do something wrong.
Not everyone is happy with what Light is doing though and soon a genius equal to Light's intelligence decides that he wants to hunt him down to stop all the killing. An internationally renowned detective that goes by the name of L whom no one has ever seen. And the hunt is on!
Here's a link to a great English fanpage for the comic: http://www.deathgod.org/

I swear, I'm so fangirl squeeing over this. Well, as much as I can be with the nauseous feeling seizing my stomach.
