For about a week or so the interwebs, or at least the romance novel focused area of it, have been going crazy about a plagiarism scandal involving one of the genre's more prolific (and crappy) authors, Cassie Edwards. Said plagiarism was discovered by the folks at the fabulously snarky romance review blog Smart Bitches Who Love Trashy Books.
The wank has been terribly entertaining so I felt the need to share it with those who have an interest in such things. If you have no idea what this is all about then go to the blog A Low Profile where the romance novelist Gennita Low gives a hilarious synopses of the entire torrid situation.
It's terribly sad of me but I do so love wank. I find it so amusing and this has to be one of the best wanks I've seen in years. Mostly because it involves old crappy romance authors who mostly write vaguely racist and stereotype filled novels, plagiarism of nature articles involving ferrets, plagiarism of a Pulitzer Prize winning novel, plagiarism of Song of Hiawatha, Nora Roberts inspiring people to want her internet babies with her remarks on the scandal, and major media coverage from New York Times, Associated Press, and Newsweek to name a few.
Ohhh, it's a win wank indeed.
