Yesterday we picked up Michi's new 2008 Ford Escape Hybrid. It's a really sweet ride made all that much sweeter because I got a vehicle normally marked upwards of 30k down to 24k. How did I do that? Well, technically, it wasn't me who really did it. Michi has a buttload of money saved away from her former job at American Express and she paid for the car the day we went to the dealership.
It gave me tons of negotiating leverage by waving that immediate payday they'd get in front of their faces along with the fact there were six other dealers just a short drive away that we could try to get the same deal with if they wanted to turn us down. Here's a picture of the nifty car in question:
Personally, I like the color green the best. I always wanted a green car for some reason but I've been stuck with red for most of my vehicles. It's only recently I've gotten to at least diverge to blue. But it's not my money so pale blue or whatever the hell they call it was the color of choice. Even though I so don't have the funds for it the fact that she has a shiny new car makes me really want one too.

oneiric22 and I have made our hotel reservations at the main hotel for Otakon. I managed to snag cheap nonstop roundtrip tickets from St. Louis to Baltimore with American Airlines for $250 which I think is quite the good deal. I've yet to tell the gf about the trip because I don't feel like getting in trouble.
