If you updated iTunes and are wondering what the hell happened to the mini player option (like I was) here's what you have to do to get it back.
Option + (The + button that used to get you the mini player on iTunes but now does nothing or makes it bigger.)
View > Switch To Mini Player
Or if you're disgruntled like me you can just take the Command H route and just hide the damn player. I'm not sure why this change bothers me so much. Oh wait, I do. I'm old and I've been using iTunes for what? 10 years or so? And now they change a function that is like second nature for no apparent reason? But in other news, I'm mature enough to realize this is just me being whiny and douchey about my technology habits.
