I finally got the new cd by Me First & The Gimme Gimmies, the aptly titled Love Their Country, which is naturally filled with excellent covers of country music songs. I've been listening to the cd nonstop and decided to share a few of my favorite tracks on it along with the original songs. My favorite cover is the one of Goodbye Earl by The Dixie Chicks. I think it's possibly better than the original.

Oh! And for the fun of it I've uploaded every cover of the excellent song Jolene by Dolly Parton that I have. Considering what a huge Dolly fan I have that's a damn lot of covers. But no matter how much I love cover songs my adoration for Dolly totally wins out and the original version of that song remains my all time favorite.

While I really like the Me First & The Gimme Gimmies cover of Jolene I think the best cover is a tie between Sherrie Austin and Natalie Merchant. All of the covers kick ass though.
