One of my coworkers randomly decided he wanted to restart the Quaker religious movement today. What was funny about it was he kept referring to "the Quaker way" and telling my other coworker whom he's training, things like... "If you were a Quaker you would've done it like this." "What can the Quakers teach us about this accident?" "No one intimidates a Quaker. Stand up to them!" "The Quakers are a peaceful and loving people." And so on and so on.

Honestly, his spurt of madness made the shift go by so much faster and what I find really funny is every time a Trooper came in and visited us in the radio room he'd bring up his new plan to restart the Quaker religion and actively tried to recruit them for his new flock. More than 80% of the Troopers agreed. He's got a decent sized congregation and it's just a stupid joke.

I'm slowly but surely working on my Marimite fanfic. I hope to have the second chapter up Friday or Saturday so look for that if you enjoyed the first chapter.

Did he know Quakers don't breed?

Oh, Quakers breed. That's why they're still around (look up the Society of Friends). Dude's reforming a religion that never went anywhere.

It's the Shakers who didn't breed, and therefore, no longer exist. But they made some nice furniture and that lovely "Tis a gift to be simple" song.

Heh. One of my friends is an active Quaker. I went to his Quaker wedding, which was an interesting ceremony and really not much at all like the normal Christian wedding thingie.

The starting of zany religions is certainly a way to make time go by at work, though.
