Replenishing Funds

I've been unemployed for awhile. I also have been going through an FBI background check since November 18, 2008 for a contracted position with the Department of Homeland Security doing data processing. The job was offered to me and it is pretty much a dream job for me. It keeps me in St. Louis and it pays well and it falls into my background with computers as well as my legal experience. While I was offered the job I can't start until the background check is completed and as far as I'm concerned I don't have the job until I'm sitting behind the desk getting paid.

If this job doesn't work out I'll have a huge gap in my resume. I mean, HUGE, and because of that I had been trying to get temporary employment with a job placement agency at an office until the check finishes. But none of those agencies have come through for me so I've been considering just going back to the misery of retail and working that until the check is done just to have money and to fill up that employment gap. I know I can't just keep sitting around like this sucking on my savings though. It's causing a drain.

I really don't want to go back to retail because that's so not included in my visions for my career path but I know I can get back into easily, in fact I have an interview for a management position this Friday, and retail is one of the few jobs I won't feel guilty for just leaving when the background check completes. On the other hand, what if I never get that offer package and I'm stuck in retail again?

Ugh.

At this point I'm thinking I will go on the interview Friday, take the retail job if it's offered, work it until the check finishes and if things don't turn out well for me in February with me starting that government position I'll start hunting for another clerical position somewhere. This entire situation has me confused and a little unhappy though. But I really need to replenish my funds.

For those who read my ramblings purely for fanfic a retail job will mean much slower updates because I'll actually be doing something with myself rather than twiddling my thumbs and sitting around on my ass. I'll have to start recording OLTL when I go back to work because I'm sort of crushing on Todd's ex-wife, Tea Delgado. I think it has to do with the sexy accented way she says her own name and that super confident smile she perpetually has on her face. Plus today it was revealed she's in town to fuck with people in a sneaky way. I love that! lol.

Also, for almost six months now this random person has been asking to add me as a friend on Yahoo Messenger and I have no idea who they are. The first time they asked I denied them and asked who they were and the next day they asked again without explaining who they are and this has gone on every day for six months to the point that now when I reject their asking to friend me with messages like, "NO! I DON'T KNOW YOU! WHO THE FUCK ARE YOU?!"

Then like clockwork the next day the fucker asks to friend me again.

I want to work for the government in some capacity after I finish my degree and researching jobs in that area, yeah, those checks take for-ever. I think 2 months is average.

I was told by the chick at the Defense Logistics Agency who is doing my background check that it would take 75 days give or take two weeks. I just hope this job comes through because it's my idea of a perfect position, you know?

OMG! I freakin' loved Tea Delgado, Florencia was just the coolest, cockiest character until they decided that Todd should take the biggest number two on their storyline. Seriously, he made a fool out of her faking DID, left her at the alter, got her caught up in a fire, skipped town only to come back to shoot her boyfriend and talk her into leaving with him and last but not least he left her stranded on a deserted island to go back to Blair after he slept with her. I stopped watching OLTL after that and I'm afraid of what they'll do to her next, how's it been so far?

Wow. I didn't know all that background on her. I just was drawn by her instant sexy cool the moment she walked onscreen. By my not knowing her background she's had it pretty good so far. They have her involved with two legal cases, one involving immigration and her arranging the fake marriage of Cristian and some chick from Columbia, and then defending Todd from the slew of charges involving his whole amnesiac Marty situation.

Today though, she got that phone call and the way she talked to the person totally implied she's in town to fuck with peoples lives. She made mention of everything going according to plan. I'm curious who she might be talking to and who she's messing with. From what you told me maybe she's getting revenge on Todd for him fucking her over so much? I just think she's made of confident sexy win and love her.

Knowing Todd it could be anyone who wants to screw with him, off the top of my head I'd say RJ Gannon, Tea's ex and the guy Todd shot. Alex, who was married to mob boss Carlo Hessor, Tea defended cause Todd wanted to get an exclusive story or Ray who washed ashore with TnT on that island and Todd left them stranded for weeks before he sent help for them.

At one point TnT was my favorite couple, check out youtube for the scene when Blair accidentally pushes Tea out of a window and Tea gets out of her hospital bed to defend Todd in the custody hearing.

In my recent post for AMC I linked a video with her showing up to defend Todd in court and Blair referenced that scene. Tea was all bad ass with the reply that unfortunately for Blair she survived the fall. Fucking awesome.

I remember RJ Gannon. That would be cool if she was working with him. I'll have to look for that scene you mentioned now. I just know this is going to lead to sad YouTube hunt for all her old clips now. lol. As if I really need another soap character to fangirl over.
