When it comes to All My Children, and to a lesser extent One Life To Life, I'm something of a masochist. I have favorite characters, favorite couples, favorite families and I love them all to pieces but as much as I love them I really super duper love to see them go through delicious soap drama. That being so, I perversely squee'd with joy over the massive argument/break up/Bianca releasing inner Kane on Reese today.
In fact, I loved today's whole episode so much that guess what I'm doing?
Bianca had a few really great lines some of which I had to make into icons. Namely...
1. Lesbians don't just go around kissing men.
2. So it was a rookie mistake?
3. What is wrong with you?
4. Are you insane?!
5. I'm going to leave you alone so you can get ready for Zach. You should change into something sexy, open up a bottle of wine, wait for him to come home so the two of you can consummate our wedding night.
Burnnn! lol. I love it when she gets angry. She has some great lines whenever she does and Eden always brings it. As much as I am joking around right now the episode was really powerful and both actresses did a spectacular job with it. TB was particularly compelling in her remorse and desperation to save the relationship. I particularly liked the two times she said Bianca's name as a single line, first shocked and the second sort of in disbelief when she realized Bianca was taking the girls away with her. I also really loved the part where she asks Bianca if she still loves her and the clear relief in that shaky smile she gives when Bianca, unable to lie, admits that she's still in love with Reese.
The thing that kills me about all this, besides the whole Kinks decimation, is the issue of custody that's going to come up. I said it on the Bianca and Reese board and I'll say it again here that I don't see Bianca as someone who would use her children as weapons. That got me a nifty reply on the board from someone who said Bianca did just that by refusing to let Maggie see Miranda. My response to that is Bianca also mentioned how Maggie just up and left them and she had to explain to a clearly hurt Miranda where the hell Maggie disappeared to. She even went on to say she just got Miranda to stop asking about Maggie so at that point why the fuck would you introduce Maggie back to her? It would just cause more pain and confusion for Miranda, especially if Bianca knew she didn't want to get back with Maggie romantically.
I do know Bianca takes off with the girls but I don't think she does it out of a need to punish or out of spite. I think she does it as an instinct to protect herself and her girls from being hurt further by her relationship with Reese combusting. Personally, I think it's best she get Gabrielle out of there when you consider all the negative feelings Kendall has about her and the guilt Bianca has about her origins and Zach's guilt plus his feeling that he's not just a donor, he's the father of that baby. Do I think it's right to keep Reese from her daughters? No, but I understand why Bianca does it.
At the end of the episode there was some fairly clumsy writing where Bianca says that it feels like she's been raped all over again and while I winced at that comparison I sort of got at what they were trying to do with it. The imagery of Bianca, spirits broken, looking devastated, and as if her world has been utterly destroyed with Erica there to comfort is very reminiscent of when she told her mother about being raped. I think it was attempting to relate back to that same feeling Bianca had back then that her life had just changed in a profoundly terrible way and she feels helpless and lost, totally unsure how she's going to fix it and wanting to give up in a way. It certainly looked that way.
In a bit of happy news, spoilers say Aidan confesses to Angie that he's fallen in love with Annie. I gave such a squee of joy when I read that. I love me some Aidan and Annie. The A-Team is the best hetero ship on this show and they better not screw them up or I'll be filled with sad.

i didn't like the rape comment it was a reach to equate a break up with a real rape. i agree with ur assessment though with what the writers were going for but they didn't need the words the scene alone would've been enough to convey the moment.
i don't think there's enough today to talk about custody a lot of wives pack up the kids and leave after an infidelity reveal at least that's what tv always tells me. binky's just angry, upset, hurt and needs space. her girls provide comfort and security. i think there will be more to talk about when the ladies really get into the whole custody issue.

And the line 'What is wrong with you!' pretty much sums up the entire confusing storyline. Bianca seriously needs to drop the Montgomery and go with Kane, she really showed her inner Erica/Kendall today, LOL.

I was just so happy we had angry Bianca yesterday... It's hot.
