Is what I need from you people. I know, I know, I haven't posted in forever. Work has been unbelievably hectic as has school and I really super duper need to work on my fanfic but in the meantime I've gotten myself an early Christmas present in the form of a320 Pocket Retro Game Emulator.

With this totally awesome machine I can play games from the NES, SNES, Sega Genesis, GBA, Neo-Geo, and any Capcom arcade game systems 1st and 2nd editions. I've probably already put at least 100+ games on the system thus far but I've got almost 3 GBs of space still left on the machine. I can put mp3s, movies, and ebooks on it but I bought it to play all my favorite old school games in a super convenient manner.

Thus I want recommendations for your favorite games on the systems I've listed. Just in case there are some gems of a game I've passed over in my massive downloading spree.

Thank you! I've been playing the NES version of Captain America & The Avengers for the past hour. It's sad how happy this gaming system has made me. I know it's going to suck up a lot of my free time.

well, i hope they work on your emulator. there are ems in the zip file for the nes and snes so if they won't work on your handheld, they should function on your computer.

So fucking cool!! Portable emulator? How come I've never heard of this??? Anyway...
Neo-Geo took over my life one summer. Basically any fighting game for that system OWNS. King of Fighters, Fatal Fury, Garou, Aggressors of Dark Combat, Breaker's Revenge, SNK vs Capcom, Matrimelee, Samurai Showdown, and The Last Blade. And Metal Slug is a classic, super fun.
I don't remember where I d/led them from, but they should come up in a google search.

Thanks! I only downloaded Metal Slug for the Neo-Geo. I'll make sure to get those games as well.

Illusion of Gaia is one of my favorite SNES games. I just played through it again (and Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past) over Christmas last year.

An RPEG rec, thanks a ton! I mostly played Genesis as a kid and as a result only know a handful of the RPEGs on the SNES unfortunately. Illusion of Gaia wasn't one of the few on my list. I'll make sure to dowload it.

Ooh, wow. Um, every single game in the Metal Slug series for the Neo-Geo. There are a LOT of great RPGs for SNES. My favorites were Chrono Trigger, Secret of Mana 2, Lufia II, Earthbound, Super Mario RPG, and Secret of Evermore. Oh, and definitely Ogre Battle. And Super Metroid.

Huge fan of Phantasy Star IV for Genesis.

NES? Hm. Bionic Commando, Mega Man II & III, Dragon Warrior, Goonies II, Metal Gear, Kid Icarus, Contra. Won't say Zelda b/c it's too obvious. (Castlevania I & II!)

Sincerely, Allaine

I totally forgot about Secret of Mana 2. Thanks so much for reminding me. I never played Goonies II just the first Goonies game but I'll get both of them now.

I feel kinda dorky for reccing this but Paperboy 2 for the SNES is one of those kind of annoying, mostly addictive games you have to try at least once.

Oh, and the best Sega Genesis game I've ever played has to be Vectorman (though it's one of those games with no way of saving - the highest level I ever made was level 18, kudos if you can do better!)!

I love Paperboy and Vectorman. It's not dorky at all to rec Paperboy. I spent a few days searching for a good rom for Adventures of Lolo on the NES and Mickey Mouscapade. lol.

:D I'm so glad! XD Really? lol, that sounds awesome (and like something I would totally do).

Oh, I remembered another game I use to like for SNES - Skuljagger: Revolt of the Westicans. Don't know if you ever played it. *flashbacks* o_. Fruit...

Super Castlevania IV, Super Metroid, Actraiser, and a game called Umihara Kawase for the SNES are all pretty fun. Umihara is a Japanese game but there's a translation patch.
http://www.zophar.net/translations/snes/english/umihara-kawase.html

It's a game about a girl fighting evil fish with rod and reel. Also Pikiinya is a tetris-like game about penguins on ice.

Bionic Commando, Rockin' Cats, Duck Tales, and Kabuki Quantum Fighter are all old favorites of mine on the NES.

Genesis: Haunting, Alien Soldier, Mickey Mouse in the Castle of Illusion, and Ecco the Dolphin would be my immediate suggestions.
