I've been applying for jobs nonstop and in the process have been online quite a bit. Generally I suck at board games. Mostly because I get confused in the process of learning the rules. I've tried to learn Chess, Go, Backgammon, and any other number of popular board games but in the process of learning the rules my brain dies and I lose interest. I thought Go would be easy to learn because people claim it has simple rules but for some reason I really, truly, and unbelievably suck ass when it comes to capturing stones. I thought I understood the capturing rule but apparently not since I always fuck it up in game scenarios.

However! There is one board game I do understand and love to play even though it is not exactly considered the most glamorous in terms of needing high intelligence to play it. That's Checkers! Yes, the ugly redhaired stepchild of Chess which gets no r-e-s-p-e-c-t. You don't see any Searching For Bobby Fischer type Checkers movies, do you now? Phaw. Fools.

Through the magic of Yahoo! Games I've been playing it online with various friends and kicking much ass. Ahh, I feel triumphant. Now if only I could find a job. lol. I'd feel that much better. The girlfriend is still not at all happy with me and I'd talk more about it but it depresses me.
