Watch This! Big Mama Kane Smackdown

Erica Kane is All My Children. Honestly. That's why way back when I first found out they were making her daughter, Bianca Montgomery, a lesbian it was a huge thing to me because any character related to Erica isn't disposable. She's too important to the show. Why? Because Susan Lucci rules playing her and whether you like or hate Erica she's always entertaining as hell to watch.

Today was no exception when she produced a smackdown on the reverend who refused to christen Gabrielle when he found out she has lesbian parents. I love it when Erica defends her daughters and it's nice to watch it with Bianca and her sexuality because of how Erica really wasn't at all accepting of Bianca being a lesbian at first. Sort of shows how far she's come in terms of that. I just wonder what she's going to do when Kendall wakes up and becomes angry with Bianca. I can't see Erica wanting to take sides.

Today's show sort of made me a bit nervous. Mainly Reese's reaction to the reverend. Some on the Bianca/Reese board have equated her expression at the end of the scene to reverence for Erica being made of awesome and that is there but she looks genuinely hurt and confused and to me I associated it to this being her first experience dealing with prejudice directly relating to her relationship with Bianca.

Although it could also be from the fact that she watches Bianca hug Erica who just defended her all fierce and bitchy fabulous and wishes that was her with her own mother and it hurts to recall how her mom outright rejected her.

I dunno. This episode had a lot of the cute though and the ceremony was really sweet. Watch the clips in order, top to bottom.

Oh yeah, and I think Reese running all weird and frantic is officially the funniest/cutest thing ever. Most likely that opinion could be changed by the next onslaught of adorability though. Also the fact she's excited by the prospect of big pregnancy boobs.
