JR is such a douchebag, I mean, I really like him, I believe I have a sweet spot for unrepentant manipulative assholes (as is immediately apparent in my fic) but dude, you've had like three dates with her since she divorced your ass and you're expecting her to put out?
I know, right? I love JR too but he needs to chill out. He also needs to realize that he's never been in love with Marissa. He might love her but mostly (I believe) he's enamored with the stability she gave him and the family he has with her. We've seen JR in love with Babe and Annie and he never comes close to those emotions with Marissa.
JR/Amanda had way more chemistry in that one little scene than JR/Marissa have had in their whole history. Original recipe and recast. It's sort of sad.
Marissa's the nice girl, always, even in the beginning she was picking up after him and keeping him on the straight and narrow, and honestly, that's just not him. Yeah, when he was dying, he really needed someone without an agenda, but he doesn't seem to be the sort of guy who's be attracted to someone who's always telling him to be better. He's be better with someone who understands the need to be ruthless, since he's not going to get over that, it's who he is, and that's not Marissa.
