The L Word is doing that whole fan oriented episode thing, right? I've already registered and voted and ye gods... people would be retarded if they didn't vote for finding out what happened to everyone in those six months as the storyline they want to see. The rest of the ideas are lame as fuck. Well, to me anyway. The cool thing about this contest is how it's being run where you have to promote your scenes with graphics and shite that make people WANT to click on it to read. Sort of like making advertising trailers for your story. Since I'm nerdy as all hell I figure I should be pretty good at that. Things don't start swinging until February 3rd though.

Here's the fanlib L Word website: http://lword.fanlib.com/

My subject line is about the character profile pages. Check out Helena's:

HELENA PEABODY
(Rachel Shelley)

Born with a silver spoon in her mouth, the proud, sometimes haughty Helena is used to getting things done her way. Daughter of the wealthy art collector Peggy Peabody, she now runs the family foundation as well as a new movie studio. And who is her psychic love connection? If a relationship with Alice is in the cards, can the strong-willed Helena wrestle Alice from her obsession with Dana?

Hee! Helacious is mentioned. I'm so nerdy but that pleases me.

Oh yeah, I recently found out that St. Louis does indeed have their own Roller Derby league. I'll have to go check out some bouts. They're just starting up so they need to get people involved to keep it running. I doubt I'll go back to playing it again because... ow. Those few times I did it with my friends in LA. lol. It's fun but painful. I'm almost tempted though because I thought of the best name ever for a dyke Rollergirl but I don't want to share it unless I actually get the perverse desire to try skating again. I doubt I will though. I'm busy enough as it is. Oh! For those in St. Louis who want to know about the all girl Roller Derby league they're called The Arch Rival Rollergirls which is a pretty fucking clever name if you ask me. Because, you know, duh, that's our big cheesy sort of tourist thing here in the Gateway To The West.

What name? I've actually come up with a couple of new names that I really like but they're mostly random and without any real lesbian connotation. So I'm thinking if I decide to start skating again I should possibly keep the name I used to skate under which is Ellen Degenerate. The name amused me and I sort of felt by being a lesbian and using that name it sort of... I dunno, took the bigoted insult power out of it? But who knows. I'm a bit dazed. lol. Where do you skate?

Ellen Degenerate - heh, I love it.

Well we're trying to get some teams set-up here in Vancouver, BC. So far no Derby yet, I think the closest is Seattle.

That sucks. I know that there's discussion within the larger leagues, like The Gotham Girls in NYC, that perhaps with the added attention being given to the sport there could possibly develop a nation wide league in the USA or at least a tournament within the various larger leagues. Which would be cool to see, you know? lol. Sort of like the MLB All Star Game but for Roller Derby.

Yeah, I have a feeling that unless we do some major sponsor groveling as well as getting local media interest. It might just be a nice little underground labour of love.

Roller Derby All-Stars!!! Hell Yeah that would rock, the Holly Rollers taking on the Rat City Girls from Seattle or The Gotham Girls... sweet
