I got a call from Willows Way today. Yay! I didn't manage to reply in time to talk to the recruiter though. I was at Barnes Jewish Hospital with Vlad doing the whole therapy dog routine. I got him certified for that a month or so ago and I take him mostly to that hospital since it's where my cardiologist works and I'm used to it. All Vlad really does is play with the sick kids. It's super fun for him and the kids like it. But you have to turn off your cell phone when you're in the hospital so by the time I was leaving and I turned it back on she was out of her office for the day. Bummer. I left a message in her voice mail and told her I'm very much interested in talking with her further about the job and that I'll call her tomorrow morning. Hopefully I'll be able to get in touch with her.

Today I managed, after much fucking searching, to find my cds for Ruslana and Sertab, both of whom are incredibly hot singers who have competed in the Eurovision contest. Ruslana is from Ukraine and Sertab is from Turkey. Between the two of them I think I prefer Ruslana just a tad more because her music is more pop and dance oriented but Sertab has an equally good voice. Sertab is way more romantic in her lyrics though. Since I love sharing music, especially fucked up music most people have never heard of, I've decided to upload two songs by each singer here.

One song in English and one in their native language and let you all, or at least the ones who bother downloading all the shit I put online, to decide for yourselves which singer you like best. I dunno if visualization of the chicks will help but here's links to some images of them...

Sertab: http://www.sertab.homestead.com/files/sertap.jpg

And yes, I did purposely pick images that have them surrounded on stage by their worshipping minions who seem to be celebrating their Eurovision hotness. lol. Hey, what's wrong with that?

Today I also talked to my long time and super slutty friend Rachel who lives in LA and has been in the punk music scene there since what seems like the beginning of time and she's been reading my LJ apparently. So, you know, hey slut! lol. Nooooo. I love you, Rachel. But not in an orgasmic nature. Anyway. She's been reading my prattle here and she thinks my fucking mp3s here show more weird ass variety than most actual dedicated mp3 blogs have.

There are mp3 blogs? Dude. I had no idea. I'm curious about that shit now.

ETA: I managed to find a site that has almost all of the Eurovision live performances on it. Scroll down to the bottom of the page to see Ruslana and Sertab. The video quality is sort of bad but if you reduce the size of the video player by about half it looks a hell of a lot better. And even with the iffy video quality their performances are fucking kick ass and totally worth seeing.

Dude. Thank you so much for those links. Now I have yet another overseas pop singer to worship. lol. Mylene kicks ass. And you're right, that guy in the Q.I. video is totally creepy. I didn't click on the Carola video as recommended but man, I really do think Sertab beating the stupidly controversial Tatu in 2003 set some sort of over the top hotness rule for the female winners. Or maybe I just like Sertab, Ruslana, and Elena Paparizou way too much. I need to find cds for both Mylena and Elena now though.

Yeah, yeah, I don't really "need" to do that but just humor me. lol.

I live to share the Mylene love. We went to France to see her twice in concert three weeks ago and it literally changed me. I saw her back in 1999 as well, but this time it was all just too much. For the first date we queued for 14 hours in -1C and got second row positions. And I spent most of the concert crying my eyes out during the sad songs and shouting (not singing) my lungs out during the upbeat ones. She played 13 nights at the same arena as the show could simply not be moved and it sold out already in 2004! But now it is over and I curse myself for only getting tickets for two nights. Who cares if it was in another country? I could have slept in a tent outside the arena for three weeks with the other fans (the ones I used to think were crazy, but who I would now happily join).

Anyway. I am now a very pathetic person who can not listen to any other music than Mylene. And who spends her evenings crying and watching crappy audience recordings of the show. I am so lucky that my boyfriend has been equally traumatised by this, or we would have some serious problems. Ha!

Where was I going with all this? Oh yes! Last week (and today) I uploaded almost all of Mylene's albums (six full-lengths and two double live ones) since 1986 to rapidshare.de. Do you want them? Is your email address the one in your profile?
