I tend to link things that some people have already heard of and for that I apologize but I just found the greatest thing ever. At least as a nerdy ass fan of the 80's cartoon Jem and The Holograms I have. What is it? The Huckapoos. They've had quite a buzz in NYC so I dunno how any of my friends there never told me about this but they're basically real life Jem and The Holograms.
Set up with the same sort of hilarious kitsch where the characters have fabulous names and are set up as certain personality archetypes. Which, okay, I guess is like a lot of lame ass boy bands but Huckapoo is totally over the top with this and it cracks me up. Plus they have their own band theme song. rofl. My favorite is a tie between biker girl Angel Sparks and punk girl Joey Thunders. Although they don't seem to be too far off in personality. lol. The hip hop queen PJ Bardot is also cool. Oh hell, all of the Huckapoos are cool in my eyes.

Much like Jem and The Holograms, the music isn't terribly brilliant but the concept of this is so damn amusing I can't help but love it. But as a huge nerd of Jem and The Holograms cartoon I have to say now, only Jem sucked in terms of music. The Misfits fucking ruled.
