We're watching The Oscars before L Word starts at our Sunday viewing party and dude, what the fuck is with them playing goddamn music over all the speeches? I mean, I don't care about the speeches and I'm really watching just to see Dolly Parton perform Travelin' Thru live but jeebus people! I can't pay fucking attention when you play the lame ass sentimental violin music over every fucking speech. SO STOP DOING IT! Man the producers of fucking award shows are retarded. They need their asses fired.

End Rant

(Because Michi just brought me more beer.)

ETA: Dolly just performed so I'm done watching The Oscars. I'll spend my remaining time boozing until L Word starts. But my god did Dolly kick ass. And so does Felicity Huffman for getting teary eyed because I suspect she got that way because she understood the uplifting message of acceptance that was at the heart of Dolly's song.

ETA: ETA: Goddammit! Dolly didn't fucking win the best song category. What the fuck people?! I mean, my god, watch her performance and tell me that's not Oscar worthy. Bah. Yet another reason to dislike trendy industry people.

The oscars are on TV as I type and I'm posting in total agreement to your first point. The music over the speeches is bloody annoying! I understand why they do it but that doesn't mean I have to like it.

Dolly just performed a couple of minutes ago. Sorry Dreiser, I'm not a fan! Never have been.

*hides in shame*

Although I do have to hand it to her. She does knows how to work the stage. Not many people can stand up on a stage all by themselves and manage to pull it off.

Dolly is responsible for one of my all time favourite celebrity quotes too.

'You'd be surprised how much it costs to look this cheap!'

I do lover her for admitting it!

Dude, what is with the lack of dolly love?!?!
My old band did a cover of 9 to 5. My old METAL band, i should say. It fitted into the set perfectly, lol!

I dunno. Maybe it’s the disproportionate measurements of her body that distracts me from actually taking the time to listen to her. Or maybe it’s the fact that her voice is a little too whiny for my liking. Oh I dunno… I guess I just lack the Dolly-loving gene.

Metal band covering 9-5? That I'd like to hear. I'm already imagining that it's better than the original.

It certainly gained people's attention.

Everyone has their own musical tastes. I'm fine if people don't like the same music that I do. I just hate it when people get all insulting and retarded with explaining why they don't like something. You know, like on MediaBlvd when people post and just say, "Lara sucks! DIE DIE!" Uhm... okay? lol. But I do puzzle over you thinking Dolly has a whiney voice. She's got a very happy and upbeat tone to her and that's why I adore her. I mean, she's genuinely a happy person. That's rare.

Dolly's voice is very light though. I dunno. I'm all whacked out from my new meds but whiney doesn't sound right in describing her voice. Maybe because I equate whiney to nasal and her voice isn't nasal. Anyway! Don't hide because you don't like Dolly. It's no big. I'm mellow and not liking what I like will not upset me.

Hell, a car ran over my foot and I didn't get upset. I just stood there. Then I fell over.
