Missouri is seriously fucked up right now. At least around the St. Louis area. We had a major storm last night and half a million people are without electricity and it's supposed to get up to a temperature high of 103 degrees. My super sweet coworker, Tunye, had a fucking tree fall on her house and it's going through her room! Needless to say she's not coming into work today.
Power is out everywhere, trees are in roads, big rigs are still overturned, and basically it sucks. The power at my house went out at 6:30 p.m. and didn't come back until 6:25 a.m. Vlad was good at amusing everyone though, barking at the dark and scary as hell blue and orange sky as if it would help restore power somehow.
I'm saying... fear Mother Nature. She's a nasty and vindictive bitch.
ETA: The lights have now gone off and on, staying off for a varying period of five to thirty minutes, three times since 9 a.m. Mother Nature is a vindictive bitch but UE is an asshole about fixing the electricity. Still, what can you do? 500,000 people to deal with. I'm just sick of my computer turning off in the middle of writing recs.
