School loans currently assessed: $65,370.40

UMSL cost for 6 credit hours: $1,748.04

Car payment monthly: $187.50

Cell phone bill monthly (unlimited minutes): $55.00

Credit card debt: $1,030.61

Roller Derby monthly dues (eventually): $40.00

Monthly gas cost: $50.00

Current monthly salary (estimated): $1375.00

Me: Poor as fuck and paying off potential school loans totaling $100,000 until the year 2035. Right now I’m set to pay until 2021. Oh dear god. Why am I doing this again? WHYYYY?

ETA: I think I honestly have to withdraw from UMSL. Which would be a pain since I bought books, parking pass, and paid for my year long student dental plan. Looking at that fucking debt I just don't think I can make myself add to it.

First who do you have your cellphone with? I'm changing mine in November and that's a great deal. Do you have a lot of out of range areas? Secondly WOW college is ridiculously expensive. No wonder America is falling behind the rest of the world in education. Soon it will be only the rich or the "in debt for life" who can afford it.

Try out fastweb.com for scholarships. You were so excited about the program. You can make it work. If you're in school, can you defer your loan payments?

Also remember the high stakes testing, which doesn't mean that our children are being education - but they'll sure be able to take a test. I can't believe how expensive college is. Our whole education system is so screwed up.
