BOOM!

That's the sound my mother and dog heard around 3 o'clock yesterday. This house across the street from us, which I've driven past hundreds of times, exploded due to a natural gas leak caused by mishap involving an UE crew.

Here's the story.

In less exciting but personally satisfying news, I've finally gotten my car paid off. How much you want to bet something evil happens to it that incurs major repairs now? Heh. Tis the cruel twist of fate or something.

And in way exciting and personally satisfying news, Michi is going to be teaching a calculus class coming up in the next semester. They didn't have any openings in the Economics department but her double major in math, graduate degree, general smarts, downright kick ass work ethic and personality made the Math department scoop her up right away. She really wants to be in Economics so I hope this is temporary. Her advisor there says something should open up in the fall of next year. In the meantime, she can teach math classes.

I just hope she doesn't expect me to help with homework. lol. Hah. Dude, I suck at math.

Holy shit, dude. I can't believe the house across the street from you blew up. I hope that no one was inside at the time. Man, the owners must be stunned. Imagine coming home from work only to find debris upon the foundation of what used to be your house. I'd almost expect a rain cloud to open up right above my head.

The man who owned the house woke up from his nap because of the smell of gas. He couldn't take it so he took his dog and left the house, as he was driving away the house blew up. He was maybe like three feet away when it exploded. His wife and daughter weren't anywhere close to the house when it blew up.

He was sort of cute on the television when they interviewed him because he kept saying he was grateful that he obeyed the impulse to take his dog with him. But yeah, dude, I think if you look at that article they show the remains of the house. That shit is GONE.
