The absence of 'e' and the inflection of 'r' is an example of urban St. Louis pronunciation. I'm of course, quoting the classic song Hot In Herre by local artist Nelly. The reason I'm quoting? Because it's goddamn hot in my office. My pregnant coworker, Angie, is especially miserable.

However, we must wait for the office manager to show up in a hour before we lower the temperature. Mostly because we have no clue how this old ass system switches from the heater to air.

Last night I spent two hours capping the Facts of Life episode, The New Girl, which is where Jo makes her first glorious appearance. Shockingly, I have fewer caps for Facts of Life than Jem. I'm not sure what that means. Maybe that Facts of Life is less cracked out than Jem? Or it has fewer plot points? It is most confuzzling to ponder upon.

Upon rewatching the episode I was shocked how damn hostile Jo is to everyone and how clearly enamored Blair is. I mean, seriously, for some reason I recalled it as Jo having the crush on Blair but dude, it's so the other way around. Blair was ALL OVER that! Totally amusing stuff.

I'll probably be writing up the recap tonight so hopefully it'll be up tonight or tomorrow. So look for that if you're a fan of the Facts of Life and rampant Blair/Jo horribly blatant enough that it almost isn't really subtext.

In job related news, I have an interview next Thursday with the St. Louis County Circuit Court for a traffic clerk position. I have high hopes of getting it and a nice larger paycheck plus nifty government benefits. There's another position I want more but I haven't heard back on that one yet. I'm almost wavering because... I dunno, for some reason everyone here in the office seems especially sweet and nice this week but dude, the money. I don't think it's ever going to get better and I want fucking money for the first time in my life.

I also honestly think my personality is more suited to being a court clerk. It's a very run around hectic always busy job and that's what I loved about retail. And for some warped reason I think I would be more inclined to write as a court clerk than a paralegal. Maybe because it's not fucking sedentary sit on your ass and write variants of the same shit every day type of job.

ETA: I've now been relocated to a side desk instead of the one directly facing the front door. What does this mean? It means every client that walks into the door doesn't look to me for help. I feel bad Tunye is stuck at that desk though. But... I've escaped it! Yay.

Bad news though? I had a talk with our office manager, Heather, and apparently yesterday Dee had a nuclear meltdown about me. Dee is Chuck’s mother, the one I had a semi-confrontation with last week. I thought things were settled because I apologized and blah blah but apparently she went on this huge rant about me and what happened yesterday morning when it was just her and Heather around. She feels that I was “disrespectful” to her and after talking to Tunye she said when she got in later that morning it looked like she was crying.

I mean, dude, what the fuck? Was I that much of an ogre? Ugh. I feel so goddamn uncomfortable dealing with her now. Everyone else is so cool that I waver on leaving this job, despite much harped upon low pay, but I don’t think I can deal with her knowing that she’ll be fake ass nice to my face and talk shit about me behind my back. Plus there’s the fact I feel like a total asshole because of how she reacted to the situation.

Whatever. I’m an asshole. I should accept it and move on. Perhaps to other employment.

I loved watching the Facts of Life growing up, so when it came out on DVD, I totally bought it. So I started to watch it and thought it was so dumb, I didn't finish it. I think the last episode I watched was the one you are going to re-cap. However, I'm looking forward to your take on it to bring new life to the show. I can't wait.

I hope the whole job thing works out and you get what you want.

Today has been weird at work thus far. I'm no longer at the front of the office which means I don't automatically take in every client that comes in the door. Which is super cool.

But apparently Chuck's mom, whom I had that altercation with, went off on a tangent about me yesterday morning to Heather. I thought things were fine because she seemed cool with me but apparently she feels I "disrespected" her.

So... blerh. One good thing, one bad thing. I hate the drama and uncomfortable vibes this old lady is bringing to my office. I should have kept my mouth shut, I guess.
