I'm currenty stuck Monday through Friday in Jefferson City, the ultra boring capital of Missouri, at the Missouri State Highway Patrol Academy where I'm in a five week training process. One week down, four to go!

The dorms aren't that bad but they do reflect a certain Spartan like existence. I'd even bet some recruits get the whole "come back with your MSHP badge or come on top of it" spiel from their signficant others.

Anyway, the training seems really long. But it's nothing at all compared to the Trooper recruits who are here for a grueling six months. They do get paid during the entire training process though.

If I remember I'll take pictures of my Spartan room which I now have to myself. Sunday through Wednesday I suffered a sleepless existence with a roommate who snores mercilessly. I'm a really light sleeper and that fucked up my sleep patterns something awful. What made it worse is we're in class pretty much from 8 am until 9 pm. Yeah. Not good to be working those hours and not have much sleep.

My roommate told me the first night she snored and it wasn't bad the first night because I was so exhausted but after that I couldn't sleep at all. So we went to the Academy chick in charge of the dorms. Her solution? Ear plugs. Those are pretty much evil to wear while you're sleeping and another person in our radio class told me you're not supposed to put those in your ears when you sleep because of potential damage. I finally ended up with a room to myself but guess what? It's next to the door to the stairs which everyone takes instead of the elevator. Bang bang bang goes the door constantly opening at all hours of the night. lol. I can't win! It's way better than the snoring though. Problem is I might be kicked out of that room when the new people come in during our third week of training.

Luckily another person in our class lives in Jefferson City and is never in her room. She said to just tell them to put me with her if I have to move again. Other than my lack of sleep things at the Academy have been going well. The training is boring and monotonous.

Other than that I've been getting tons of writing done for my Marimite fanfic. All I need to do is type it all out since the scenes are all handwritten on my yellow legal pad.

Five weeks will be a long time to wait for the next chapters of "Something to Believe". But, you're out learning to do something that is going to benefit a lot of people. I'll wait...and, smile while I'm doing it. Ganbatte!
