I'm still watching The L Word but I think it's destroyed my ability to analyze it. I mean, I walked away from watching the episode at the viewing party and I didn't have any sort of intelligent opinions about it. It was the usual amount "ohhhh, the pretty" but ehh...
Okay! I have something. I love Jenny. Seriously.
I don't care how obnoxious and insane with power and her own self worth she becomes. I fucking love Jenny. She's pure self involved entertainment and I delight in her. When this series started I never thought I'd love Jenny despite thinking Mia Kirshner is a brilliant actress but I do. Frankly, I think Jenny brings the funny in a lot of ways and I delight in her constant pissing off of the ever attached at the hip and annoying Bette and Tina. Plus Bette is hot when she's pissy.
Although I'm not sure why Bette is so mad at Jenny. I guess her portrayal in the book was shite. Who knows.
I hope to god they don't have Bette and Tina get back together. I like Bette with Jodi. Oh hell, I just like Bette away from Tina who remains the black hole of boring to me.
Helena manages to still look hot in orange. It would be better if the orange jumpsuit was tighter though. Or she wore a nice tank top like her cellie. lol. That storyline is just retarded so that's as far as I'm getting with it. I also don't get why Helena just won't give up the location of the money. Seems odd to her that she'd be willing to stay in jail and possibly lose her kids to Winnie by being a criminal. But that's me using logic something which rarely applies to The L Word.
As much as I love Alice and her having actual sex scenes and I do think Tasha, in a lot of ways, is a potential perfect girlfriend for her, wtf with Tasha leaving then returning so fast? I hate fucking storyline cliches and Tasha's storyline is such a goddamn cliche with her being investigated for homosexual conduct. I also have the sneaking suspicion it's going to portray Alice in a not so good light just like what happened early in her relationship with Tasha. Or maybe I'm wrong and it will expand Alice's character and she'll be selfless and hide what she is or lie about her relationship with Tasha to save her instead of being self righteous and blabbing her cute big mouth about everything.
I more think she'll be self righteous and screw Tasha and that will bite the big one.
Speaking of Alice, my favorite scene had to be when Phyllis noticed Alice didn't look so good after talking to Tasha as she sat alone on the couch and worried about her at war girlfriend in Iraq and Bette immediately rose to her feet to walk over to her friend as she said, "Alice really doesn't need to go through this again." It's a great scene because it recognizes Alice and Bette's close friendship AND it references Dana and her death, albeit indirectly without names being mentioned. Still, any L Word fan knew what she meant.
In short? The show is pretty as ever. Jenny is my savior for entertainment. I continue to watch for Leisha Hailey and her incredible adorable brilliance. The storylines are predictable and somewhat lame. However, the friendships and the character interactions could save the season.
And Shane dates pyros.
