I'll be co-hosting [livejournal.com profile] allaine77's radio show, Femslash4Fans, on January 6th at 10 EST. The show topic (in case you haven't read my subject line) will be Harry Potter. We'll be joined by [livejournal.com profile] redbeargrl and [livejournal.com profile] meingeheimnis so I expect the show to be thoroughly awesome.

My fandom New Year's resolution is to try and finish my many abandoned fanfic projects including A Thousand Glimpses (AMC), Fragile Things (My Otome), and A Matter of Circumstance (Marimite).

Even so, I'm horribly tempted to participate in P&P's Epic Proportions contest. Since it has to be a brand new fanfic I was thinking of finally writing my All My Children/L Word crossover fanfic that hooks up Bianca and Helena thus creating the prettiest/nicest/most made of win lesbian heiress couple of all time. The pretty, you guys, the sheer pretty!

Or I could finish my Legend of the Seeker fanfic that has Cara/Dahlia post S2 finale. Hmm.

Holy shit, you guys! So I'm being a dork and I'm actually watching all six seasons of the L Word backwards. Meaning season six, season five, season four... etc. I'm currently on season three, which bums me out because Dana death, but I'm on episode nine (Lead, Follow or Get Out of the Way) and Carmen is talking about how she didn't go to the prom because she went to a porn film festival with Eva Torres and Eva taught her how to sixty nine.

Why is this making me go holy shit continuity in my most favorite cracked out lesbian soap opera? Well, maybe because in season six episode one (Long Night's Journey Into Day) we find out that Papi's real name is Eva Torres. Haha... Papi taught Carmen how to sixty nine. I dunno why I love this so much but I do. According to the wiki Tasha says Papi's real name sometime in season four but fuck if I remember that.

I'm trying to figure out couples for the possible AMC/L Word crossover fic. I think I'm going to set it after season five but before season six starts up for L Word and for AMC right after the Zoe storyline ends for Bianca.

My thumb seriously is. I'm not sure why but the thumb in my right hand keeps twitching and having muscle spasms, nothing incredibly noticeable visually but it sure hurts a lot. If you look at it closely you can see it shaking. Very weird. I would go to a doctor except no health insurance and I sort of hate them and it's just a twitchy thumb. I don't see the point.

However, my Helena icon cheers me up. I always loved it when Helena looked pimp on The L Word. She really is fabulous. Also, Yahoo keeps informing me about TLC suing Jon from Jon & Kate Plus 8 like this is breaking news. Why Yahoo? Why?

ETA: Showtime emailing me this shite...

IC is such a bad penny, y'all. She just will not go away. I'm probably going to watch this train wreck for the same reasons I watch Real Housewives. Which is... uhhh... I dunno. I'm easily entertained.

Including one of my favorite songs Living Next Door To Alice (Who The Fuck Is Alice) by Smokie. Click on the previous link to download the original song and this link to download the dance mix. I always planned on incorporating this song into one of my L Word fanfics featuring Alice but I never got around to it. Should've done it though, it would've been funny and I can see her really appreciating the use of her name in the song.

This rules for two reasons: 28 seconds in Helena gives props to Alice and it's a nice nod to my favorite L Word ship, Helacious, which yay. Then 1:50 into the video we have quite possibly the most awesome post show ship ever ever ever Sgt. Duffy/Helena Peabody. It's like an explosion of hot brunette accents. I love it.

I'm an insomniac, right? Last night I was lucky enough to chat with [livejournal.com profile] sulkygeek during my bout of sleeplessness. Ever since we happened upon each other in The L Word fandom we've had this habit of chatting about fanfics and bouncing ideas for story plots, scenes, and dialogue off one another. I always have so much fun talking to her and it's an explosion of geeky joy when I see her online basically.

Last night we started talking about All My Children. )

I think I will use my Jenny declares her own show to be made of fail icon for all my L Word posts from now on. Since this has spoiler filled videos and commentary and I hate making anyone a sad panda I'm going to LJ cut this.

Take me to spoilery town. )

The L Word aka my crackiest show addiction has released a clip for the new season and holy shit casting brilliance it has Lucy Lawless with accent playing a police sergeant. I knew she was going to be on the sixth season but making her a cop?! My fondness for hot butch women is making my heart go pitter patter. So excellent, seriously. Please, please, let her bond with Rose Rollins and they can celebrate their fabulousness together. Tasha was wanting to be a cop at the end of last season, after all. They can play seasoned veteran on the force and the spunky new rookie! C'mon? Pleaseeee?

Many years have passed since I was a somewhat babydyke fangirl of Xena but my Lucy love is so strong that just the fact she's playing the cop investigating this bullshit murder makes the storyline more tolerable. Also the fact that this clip reveals the person who dies most likely accidentally drowned in Bette and Tina's pool after doing drugs and drinking too much. Which is pretty typical of the characters on this show.

Butch cop Lucy with accent away! I love how she shrugs on her jacket.

Dude. It's official. The L Word is the crackiest soap opera I love to watch and I'm including One Life To Live with the ongoing rape storyline that started in the 90s and is finally eclipsing with now amnesiac rape victim falling in love with her former rapist. It's pretty fucking sad when I have more faith in ABC with its trend of randomly getting rid of lesbian characters to give us a better story with Reese/Bianca on All My Children than I do with Ilene Chaiken and Showtime with The L Word.

Seriously people. IC is on the pipe because she's starting the final season with one of the characters being murdered and ending it with another one of them taking the fall for said murder. Because I always see things I love ruined I predict death for Helacious.

I declare this season a supermassive black hole of suck. All I wanted was Shenny cuteness. Anyway. Here's the trailer of death. Oh yes, and I can only theorize that yes, this huge storyline fail does make Jenny very sad.

SUMMARY: Post S5. Writing has always been Jenny's therapy.
DISCLAIMER: I own nothing but my fangirl respect for Mia Kirshner.
AUTHOR'S NOTE: I love Shenny. After Dana and Alice, they're most definitely my favorite canon couple on The L Word and I really do hope they have a significant storyline in the final season of the show. This is just a bit of rambling for them and a hint of how I think they could end up resolving the obvious issues they're going to have after the S5 finale.

I don't feel like massively analyzing The L Word anymore so I'm going to talk about the few things I cared about in the finale. Lets start with Alice and Tasha and the cute accented designer whose name escapes me. I love Alice the most out of all the characters with Jenny following up a close second because she's been particularly marvelous the last few seasons and Mia Kirshner is made out of concentrated entertainment goodness. Anyway! I'll always love Alice best because of Leisha Hailey's uncontrollable adorability no matter what fucked up stuff her character does.

That being said, I was relieved to see her stop the cute designer from kissing her and then have Alice say to Shane no matter how attracted she is she won't cheat and doesn't want to cheat and give up on her relationship. I wasn't pleased at the idea of having Alice cheat on Tasha who is pretty much the most loyal girlfriend ever and that conversation eased my fears. Although Shane encouraging her to pursue her attraction with the cute designer didn't really win any points. It was also a rather big anvil dropping for the later disaster with Niki and Jenny.

Seriously, who the fuck picks these episode titles? They're hella lame. And that's saying a lot. Me using the emphasis of hella in a sentence. I feel very Cartman'esque saying that. Anyway.

This episode was all about Shane nailing the wedding party for me. Honestly. I know Shane fans will whine and moan about how she's regressing back into a seducing noncharacter but you know... as someone who doesn't watch the show for Shane I find it refreshing to watch her banging anything that breathes again. lol. I don't know why but I find it nearly as amusing as Jenny the egomaniac. Thus I loved Shane's perverted wedding adventures. Especially her sudden escape, jumping into the back of Jenny's convertible. lol. That was strangely cute to me but I've always loved the Shane/Jenny friend dynamic. They're adorable together.

Alice being unable to keep her mouth shut about Tasha's investigation to Bette and Jodi doesn't bode well if you ask me. I wish I could force myself to care but this show has killed most of that in me. I just hope they don't break up because Tasha really does have the potential to be a great girlfriend for Alice and I do like them together.

When it comes to Jodi's gay interpreter having the hots for Max? If he's nice to Max and Max is attracted to him then go for it. They'd probably be the most normal couple on the show personality wise. I wish they'd give Max something to do. Daniela Sea's acting has improved and she plays a genuinely sweet character.

Back to the world of egotistical Jenny. I loved the intro with her putting the random characters together for sex scenes. Especially Bev and Helen. Hee! That was so great. I'm also curious about her obsessive fan personal assistant. I wonder if she'll end up being a stalker trying to emulate Jenny ala All About Eve?

DUDE! All About Eve the Jenny Schecter version! lol. Sweet.

I'm still watching The L Word but I think it's destroyed my ability to analyze it. I mean, I walked away from watching the episode at the viewing party and I didn't have any sort of intelligent opinions about it. It was the usual amount "ohhhh, the pretty" but ehh...

Okay! I have something. I love Jenny. Seriously.

I don't care how obnoxious and insane with power and her own self worth she becomes. I fucking love Jenny. She's pure self involved entertainment and I delight in her. When this series started I never thought I'd love Jenny despite thinking Mia Kirshner is a brilliant actress but I do. Frankly, I think Jenny brings the funny in a lot of ways and I delight in her constant pissing off of the ever attached at the hip and annoying Bette and Tina. Plus Bette is hot when she's pissy.

Although I'm not sure why Bette is so mad at Jenny. I guess her portrayal in the book was shite. Who knows.

I hope to god they don't have Bette and Tina get back together. I like Bette with Jodi. Oh hell, I just like Bette away from Tina who remains the black hole of boring to me.

Helena manages to still look hot in orange. It would be better if the orange jumpsuit was tighter though. Or she wore a nice tank top like her cellie. lol. That storyline is just retarded so that's as far as I'm getting with it. I also don't get why Helena just won't give up the location of the money. Seems odd to her that she'd be willing to stay in jail and possibly lose her kids to Winnie by being a criminal. But that's me using logic something which rarely applies to The L Word.

As much as I love Alice and her having actual sex scenes and I do think Tasha, in a lot of ways, is a potential perfect girlfriend for her, wtf with Tasha leaving then returning so fast? I hate fucking storyline cliches and Tasha's storyline is such a goddamn cliche with her being investigated for homosexual conduct. I also have the sneaking suspicion it's going to portray Alice in a not so good light just like what happened early in her relationship with Tasha. Or maybe I'm wrong and it will expand Alice's character and she'll be selfless and hide what she is or lie about her relationship with Tasha to save her instead of being self righteous and blabbing her cute big mouth about everything.

I more think she'll be self righteous and screw Tasha and that will bite the big one.

Speaking of Alice, my favorite scene had to be when Phyllis noticed Alice didn't look so good after talking to Tasha as she sat alone on the couch and worried about her at war girlfriend in Iraq and Bette immediately rose to her feet to walk over to her friend as she said, "Alice really doesn't need to go through this again." It's a great scene because it recognizes Alice and Bette's close friendship AND it references Dana and her death, albeit indirectly without names being mentioned. Still, any L Word fan knew what she meant.

In short? The show is pretty as ever. Jenny is my savior for entertainment. I continue to watch for Leisha Hailey and her incredible adorable brilliance. The storylines are predictable and somewhat lame. However, the friendships and the character interactions could save the season.

And Shane dates pyros.
