Dude. lol. This made me laugh so hard it's not even funny. I'm suffering from major Christmas induced insomnia and this fucking cracks me up. I'm a sad person because I take all these anal retentive notes for my stories, little things from life I find amusing and I try to fit them in as things that happen to the characters in my fanfics, stories they tell, things like that.
Anyway! I planned on having Reese be angsty one night and not be able to sleep and Bianca finds her up watching weird things on television and now I must, must, must include this infomercial among the things they watch.
I think Bianca would want a snuggie even though they're horrendous. Kendall would mock her for it. Reese too I think. Even though Reese would understand why Binks would want one. Poor Binks! lol. It reminds me those huge robes she likes to wear though. Except this thing is more like an insane choir robe.
Ahhh, informercials. You make me giggle. And people, you do not have to tell me what a sad person I am for doing this level of thinking and research about fictional characters I write fanfic about. I promise I can be this much of a pathetic fangirl and still manage to function in normal society.
Sort of.
ETA: OMG! There's a challenger. The Slanket aka the best blanket ever. Which came first though? The snuggie or the slanket? Should I have Bianca and Reese debate? I need sleep. lol.

Hopefully your tie in bodes better. :)

Anyway. I won't be writing that for awhile. The last chapter has me sort of pooped creatively.

Well, that's exactly when you should write the side story...to re-ignite your muse for the main story. Just a suggestion. :)

Usually I rely on my friends who beta to keep me somewhat motivated but I don't have any for AMC fic. I should look for some but usually when I ask people I don't already know to beta it turns out that those who volunteer just want to read the chapters before anyone else and don't have any genuine criticisms or grammar issues to point out to me.

And about the fangirl thing? I think you're preaching to the choir, hon. *raises hand* I fangirl the fangirls, for godsakes. I've followed your stuff forever on various groups, from Greener Pastures to It Starts With Faith to Anime--Every random fandom I become obsessed with, you're there to the rescue with good fic. So please, keep on thinking of these things. Especially AMC, because I need reassurance I'm not the only person out there obsessed with a soap opera.

Dude, you are SO not alone with the AMC and Bianca/Reese love. For the first time my non-interweb friends are interested in my current obsession. It's a strange but refreshing change of pace.

And on the fangirling thing? Can I get a gold star at these conventions for having started when I was, like, tiny? I can say I was shipping Susan/Talia on Babylon 5 when it was current and I'm only 22... heh. I just want to write a dissertation one of these days on the cultural significance of fandom, just so people like us could be the panel of experts and it would then lend us some serious credibility. :)

The thing about fandom is no matter how long you've been around there's always someone who has been around longer that can school you. lol. That's why I stick to my little world of fanfic which tends to have less of the angry fandom debating going on.
Panels are iffy for me. I've been on a few and they're usually fun if they're run correctly. If they're not they can be disasters. I tend to go to the fanfic ones no matter what convention I attend and the one thing that irritates me is when the panelists assume they're hugely internet famous BNF's and everyone attending the panel has read their fic and knows who they are. I mean, it's sad to say I just read a few femslash authors so I don't know 99.9% of the fanfic authors out there and I stick to whatever fandom I'm obsessing over at the moment so that narrows the field more. Therefore I have no idea who most of these people are and all they do is blather on and on about their fics instead of talking about stuff that could be of genuine interest to the people who attend.
I did a fanfic panel where we outlined what makes a good fanfic vs. a bad fanfic with examples I wrote specifically for the event. It descended into how to write good porn in the end though. lol.
