I love that Katie indulges/shares my curiousity of oddities. Also that she's up for playing whatever weird game is created out of the ether. Was recently reminded of the hilariousness that is Hatoful Boyfriend and the drama that is pigeon love. Mac version doesn't work that well so I got Katie to download the game onto her laptop. It's seriously cracking me up.

I think we have to go for Sakuya. Got to dig that fanned tail. Then again, knowing my experience with Katie playing Choice of Games: Romance we'll probably end up arguing over our pigeon romantic interest. Is it sad I find this stuff fun to do with my gf? Whatever. I should find other dating sims to play with her.

Anywayyyy, ~Sakuya~, of the fanned tail. Dreamy. rofl.

Been watching my Justice League dvds and I have to say, my favorite thing on the series is The Question/Huntress. Sooooo awesome, you guys! I ship them super hard.

Adventure Time! Haha. Sorry. Had to do it. If you're not watching this cartoon you simply must. It's probably my favorite thing on television after South Park. It's a fifteen minute show on Cartoon Network that is the definition of silly and random. It takes place in the Land of Ooo which is post-apocalyptic after the Mushroom War (nuclear war) and is populated by a variety of creatures from sugar filled candy people, a plethora of princesses, an Ice King, and Earclops. The main characters are Finn the Human (the last human as all the others have been mutated after the Mushroom War turning into various other things) who is 13 years old and Jake his best friend/brother (Jake's parents found Finn abandoned in the forest and raised him) a dog with Mr. Fantastic stretching powers. The show is about them going on adventures together and generally being awesome and endearing along with the other characters.

There's something unbelievably charming about this show. It's so simple that it's brilliant but what strikes me the most is the sheer likability and goodness of the characters on this show. I mean, I defy anyone to not love Finn, he's simply adorable. Even when genderswapped as Fionna in my icon.

In a show as awesome as Adventure Time it's hard to pick a favorite character. I myself, love Finn to bits, which is weird. Usually my favorite character is never the main character but Finn is so darn lovable. I love love love how there are a million different princesses (all of which the Ice King kidnaps) but out of all of them I find Lumpy Space Princess the most hilarious. This scene pretty much exemplifies her hilarity to me.

ETA: Cardinals are in the World Series! Now I say suck it Rangers. lol. Man, my fingers are so crossed.

I swear, if the Dynasty cliffhanger that is rumored to hit AMC even effects the Kane/Montgomery/Lavery clan in even the littlest bit I will lose my shit. Particularly if it involves Bianca/Marissa or Erica and Kendall. I worry because Lucci still is not signed onto Prospect Park. Just Cameron Mathison and Lindsay Hartley. AMC DON'T DO IT. Ugh. I hate to say it but I'm dreading JR as the end of the show on ABC looms closer.

In other news, omg, Kinks, so cute today.

Bianca: Who do you want to play you in the movie? (Talking about the movie adaptation of Erica's latest tell all my secrets biography.) I want to be played by Natalie Portman. (Perfect choice, Binks.)

Kendall: Sarah Jessica Parker, Rosie O'Donnell? (Kinks laugh.) Barbra Streisand. (More laughs.) Sarah Michelle Gellar. Ohhh, she'd be good!

Bianca: Sarah WOULD be good.

Kendall: Yeah, Sarah.

Hee. I love them so much.

So going to see this at a midnight showing in October you guys. It's the funniest thing ever. At least, imho, as a huge horror movie fan it is.

Just got back from seeing Clue in the theater. So good you guys. Remains one of my all time favorite comedies. That being said, it probably has the funniest movie moment to me with Madeline Kahn as Mrs. White.

I like this slightly better than flames along the side of my face. Just slightly though. Something about her high pitched scream just... amuses me to no end. So? What's your favorite funny movie moment? Or do you just love Clue? If you don't you really should. For it is awesome on all levels.

ETA: Another favorite of mine from Zoolander. Which I love almost as much as Clue.

Lord knows I'm the biggest die hard Cardinals fan but this amuses me terribly. At least it's not the Cubs. I'd hate to have any fondness from a player on that team.

Oh, Tea Party, will you ever not have horrible taste? I think not. For now you are pimping a movie based on the most boring of books, Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand. Yes, yes, this is the book of your rich white guy revolution. Fabulous. I employ the wisdom of South Park and Officer Barbrady to this and leave you to your government is evil rants.

I have way too much love for the fantasy genre to not laugh at all the obvious jokes about the tried and true plots and characterizations they're using in this movie. I can't wait to see it.

I draw a hot sorrow bath

with a misery candle burning

I wash my hair with regret shampoo

after cleaning myself with pain soap

I dry myself with my gorgeous white

One hundred percent and it will never change towel

Then smooth on my I don't deserve lotion

and I hate myself face cream

Then I put on my alone again silk pajamas

and go to sleep

when the hue has gone blue

and you can't quite grin and bear it

let this word picture remind you

It can always be worse

Katie's parents are in STL for the weekend and we went out to lunch with them. She's from this area outside of Green Bay called Hobart. Anyway, she was oddly nervous about us meeting and I wasn't sure why. She's been out of the closet since she was seventeen and her parents reaction was basically, "Oh. We already knew you were gay." And they're totally accepting PFlag type parents so I was a bit perplexed about it.

Then we meet up for lunch at Cicero's and suddenly it makes sense. Her dad is full out seriously wearing a wolf t-shirt. One of those hardcore ones with intense graphics to make the wolf look more bad ass and he's not wearing it as a joke. It's just that he actually likes it. I mean, I didn't react to it. Like laugh or make a weird face but I could totally sense Katie being like, she's laughing inside and I hate my gf for it, but lunch was fun. Her folks are really nice and funny and her dad is sort of like one of those mad scientist engineers and I now can see why Katie has that tendency. Plus her mom completely has Katie's deadpan "WTF are you stupid?" type of attitude so it was cool seeing where she gets those aspects of her personality from which really amuse me and make me love her.

Anyway! We're in the car after lunch and I can feel Katie glaring at me and I know it's about the wolf t-shirt but I say nothing then she just explodes.

Katie: He just likes wolves, okay?! He thinks they're cool! We don't say anything about it!
Me: I thought the wolf t-shirt looked very nice on him.
Katie: Fuck you. I knew you'd make fun of this.
Me: I didn't say anything! You're the one who brought it up.
Katie: He just likes wolf t-shirts.
Me: Does he volunteer at wolf sanctuaries?
Katie: I hate you.

So that was my afternoon. I'm not sure if Katie's mad at me but I didn't do anything you guys. It was all in MY HEAD but apparently Katie knows me well enough to resent my thoughts at this point. lol. Oh yeah, and for those curious, I think I found a picture of the wolf t-shirt in question online. This one looks pretty close to it except it was blue instead of black and the outline of the wolf jumping was like... glittery silver? Awesome.

I have it around here somewhere. But, no, really... I'm totally reading a ton of Anakin/Padme fanfic because Spike TV had the prequel trilogy on today and even though Hayden can't act his way out of a bag and Natalie wasn't really trying I ship them hardcore. Anyyyyyway. My shipping and fandom nerdiness aside, Merry Christmas everybody!

Here's an appropriate comic strip for all us fandom folks (especially Star Trek) courtesy of a link from [livejournal.com profile] oneiric22 in one of our aimless chats. I think I'm getting a lot of Star Wars loot for the holidays though. Katie hinted at it and so did Jake and Laura. Wheee! The Force is so with me.

This makes me love Jones Soda more than I already do. I really don't need more soda but I seriously am contemplating making a purchase. It's just too nerdily awesome. Also, apparently Jones brought back their Thanksgiving gravy soda. But it's combined with tofurkey now. Is it wrong that I love them solely for their many disgusting but hilarious flavors? Drinking the brussel sprout flavor was... an interesting experience to say the least.

If this isn't evidence why South Park is the best show of all time I don't know what is. I love that this is a parody of the song from Totoro. It's so fucking wrong that it's made of awesome.

I had a random guy at work start talking to me about how Obama is a member of the Illuminati and how there are all these secret cures for cancer and other deadly diseases that only high ranking members of our government have access to. Also that Obama-care is an attempt to get the genetic code of everyone in our country. I zoned out while he was telling me why they want everyone's genetic code though. Funny thing is, he didn't look crazy really. Mostly he looked like an aging hippie. This is mostly due to the scraggly long hair past his shoulders and tie dye shirt.

Things like this are why I continue to perversely love working customer service jobs.

OMG, you guys! Tommy Wiseau aka the genius behind The Room is making a new movie. He had a panel at Comic Con talking about it. You guyyyyyys. The Room is brilliantly bad. I'm so excited. Oh? And everyone who doesn't love The Room?

Avatar The Last Airbender fans should feel a small measure in comfort in the fact that just seeing M. Night Shyamalan’s name is causing audiences to laugh. And not in a good way. This is all kinds of schadenfreude, you guys.

Universal is all over the interwebs trying to remove the videos of various audiences (across the world) laughing, groaning, and generally mocking the sight of M. Night's name when they saw the trailer for Devil at Inception premieres. As for the movie itself? It could be good but I don't trust anything with his name attached to it. Last movie I liked by him was Unbreakable.

Oh, and [livejournal.com profile] oneiric22? You predicted it. Or did you just tell me Toph was your favorite? I finally watched all of Avatar The Last Airbender and Toph is totally my favorite too. Why is she made of so much win? It seems impossible to fit so much awesome in such a tiny girl. lol. I really hope she shows up in the spin off Legend of Korra since it takes place in the future. I mean, who else but Toph should be the Earthbending teacher? No one, that's who.

Though, I agree with some fans who say Toph should have her own Metal Kingdom and be the Metal Queen. lol. Ahhh, she's too awesome. Seriously.

ETA: This protest at Comic Con against Westboro Baptist Church is fabulous and funny.
