Seriously! I wish she could get a permanent place on the show because she does have the chops to be a soap opera diva if she ever felt the inclination. I loved her so much in her portrayal of Reese's mother Claire.



A lot of stuff happens in a short time. Here's my thing though, I honestly don't think Erica had any sort of ill intentions when she invited Claire. I think she was actually trying to help in her own weird way. Mary she invited to fuck with Greenlee but Claire was something different.

My belief comes from the funny bit where Erica throws snow on Bianca. When she was turned from Bianca, gathering the snow, she had this sad look on her face, and Bianca was sort of being bratty like she can get. I mean, I love Bianca but she is spoiled when it comes to Erica because Erica made her that way by thinking she's pooped rainbows since she was born. Erica was, I believe, just trying to help Bianca like she always tries to do and got frustrated angry Bianca thought badly of her and rebelled by throwing snow.

She's also going through that silent grief over Josh which we could totally see when she went back to her hotel room and saw him in the mirror. Bianca doesn't always appreciate Erica and I think Erica sort of was feeling that and she did look hurt, both when Bianca was accusing her outside and when Ryan went to her hotel room. To me she looks sick of people and is mourning her dead son. I'm wondering that with Bianca in the role of Erica's favorite how Kendall will take it if Erica defends Bianca's choice of keeping the sperm donor daddy a secret and not asking her sister if it's okay her husband knocks her up all scientifically. It could cause another rift between them added to the fact that Erica has taken over Kendall's company pretty much and Kendall won't like it when Erica refuses to leave the company later on.

While the dialogue was super weird in the scene with Zach and Reese ultimately I saw none of the those inflammatory spoilers actually taking place in their scene together. Today's episode did feel rushed but I'm glad they're just sort of getting it all out there because I really rather not have Gabrielle's origins just be floating around like a horrible secret for weeks. That would suck.

I just hope Kinks survives all this since I'm sure Reese and Bianca will depart married and happy ever after for Paris in the end.

I agree that Erica wasn't trying to be mean with inviting Claire. Both Bianca and Reese were very defensive and it didn't turn out well, but she wasn't trying to wreck Bianca's bridal shower. The show incident was funny esp. since the snow was more like huge ice rocks!

People's perceptions are interesting aren't they? I have a completely different take on Erica's motive and Bianca's reaction. Yes, the snow incident was funny but Erica had made up her mind about six words into Bianca talking that she was going to head their conversation off at the pass. And with the looks Erica was shooting at Reese today? No effin' way was she pure of heart and noble of intention when she invited Claire to the bridal shower.

However, I'm in complete agreement about the absolute scorching fierceness of Laila Robins. She does icy reserve and molten disapproval equally well.

See, I think the looks Erica gave Reese today were more that she believes Bianca can do no wrong and she's not exactly happy how Gabrielle came about with Kendall not being aware until Bianca was preggers. I think she blames Reese for this happening and to a lesser extent Zach. Hence dirty looks.

I really don't think she had an ulterior evil motive with Claire, not with how depressed she appeared that day but I dunno. I love Erica so I could be biased.

Laila was super fierce! I wish she could come back.

I only made the two icons because those were the best caps I felt I could get of her. Though I wonder if I should go back through the episode on the 29th to see if I could make one or two more. Hmm.

Totally rowr! lol. I loved how she sat in that chair for some reason, just staring at Reese. That scene made me feel like I had really gotten my characterization of Claire correct in the fic with how she sat quietly and just sort of seemed to judge Reese.

Your characterization of Claire is absolutely dead on in your fic. You also nailed Reese feeling such a strong need to protect Bianca from things that she thinks might hurt her for fear of losing her. The last two shows actually made your fic even better - if that is possible!!

The throwing of snow was great. I hope between all the upcoming drama we'll get funny Kane family moments like that. I would be bummed if it's all angst nonstop.
