Normally I don't like doing memes. They tend to annoy me but I'm sort of an icon bitch. I love making them. It's my other little fandom hobby other than writing fanfic. Thus when I saw
emotionalwench doing this meme I felt the need to participate.
The rules:
1. Reply to this post and I'll pick six icons of yours.
2. Make a post that includes the info on this meme and talk about the icons I pick.
3. People comment to you and then it starts a circle of icon posts. Which is big win, imho, since I love icons.
My icons were picked by
emotionalwench and I don't really have deep thoughts about them even though I made them all myself. I don't think I have deep thoughts about anything though.
1.
South Park is probably my all time favorite show. I love every single episode and I think Matt and Trey are geniuses in the art of comedy, music, and satire. This icon comes from the S6 episode Child Abduction is Not Funny. where all the parents rabble because they don't know what else to do. I love how the adults are just morons at certain points in the series and it cracked me up how they were complaining about a situation they had no idea how to fix but they just kept on complaining.
2.
To this day I have a huge insomnia problem. I dunno what it is and for awhile I was using sleeping pills to level my sleeping habits off but I've quit that so I'm back to staying up to all hours. I used to watch MST3K obsessively when it was on midnight showings on Comedy Central and it was just made for that time slot. I think my first big experience in fandom like... exploding was when Joel was replaced with Mike and Misties just went batshit over it. I like Mike quite a bit though and I had to include icons of him. Honestly, I have no idea what episode this screencap was from but it just struck me as funny. Plus Mike does look like he's accusing someone of a great crime.
3.
My favorite L Word characters go in order Alice, Helena, and Jenny. I love Alice/Helena ship aka Helacious too. Rachel Shelley is freakishly pretty and is a great comedic talent. This is from the episode where she's gossiping and giggling and grossing out with Alice over the fact that Shane and Jenny are a couple and Alice saw them making out. She's laughing here and a sudden burst of laughter for internet lingo is sporfle so I figured I would label the icon with that. But seriously, look at her, she's so fucking pretty.
4.
I've made a few posts on my love of The Tudors and Jane Seymour in particular. I wasn't sure about the Jane recast but Annabelle Wallis is brilliant in the role and much like Rachel Shelley, she's unbelievably beautiful. When I first saw the promotional image they released of her that I used for this icon I thought she looks regal which is a quality that Anita Briem didn't really have. Hence regal in the icon.
5.
Okay! I fangirl ship Jane Seymour and Mary Tudor for some reason. This is from episode two in S3 right after Jane has told Mary she's gotten Henry to give Mary really nice residences and wants her to return to court. Mary is clearly shocked by this development and Jane is just cool as a cucumber and adorably smug and pleased with herself for being able to help Mary out. To me it's a very sweet scene and it has a bit of underlining subtext I want to explore in a fanfic that is more pure love and crush on Mary's part for Jane than anything sexual. I put the heart in there because I really think this scene is the start of where Mary starts to really care about Jane and realizes she's a much different creature than Anne Boleyn.
6.
Zoolander is hilarious and I'm a huge fan of David Bowie. I've seen him three times live and I love that he made an appearance in Zoolander. This icon pretty much speaks for itself. He looks serious, doesn't he? lol.
