I just got off a meandering two hour phone call with a girl I just started dating and we were discussing how Disney is honestly nowhere as wholesome as they'd like you to think. Mainly in the fact they create so many awesomely fucked up villains in their animated films. Which got us to further discuss who are our favorite villains. So I ask, who is your favorite Disney villain, friendslist?

Mine is Ursula from The Little Mermaid because of the fabulous job Pat Carroll did with the voice acting. I definitely think Maleficent from Sleeping Beauty is the most bad ass though. I love the animation from Sleeping Beauty the best out of all the animated Disney films. Although, I have to include Professor Ratigan from The Great Mouse Detective just because he was voiced by Vincent Price which automatically makes him an excellent villain.

And here's video proof of why Ursula is my favorite.

I would have to say my favorite villans are Jafar from Aladdin, and Hades from Hercules. Jafar for his OTT attitude, and Hades just in general to be a wise-ass. :3

*randomly pops in* Maleficent is mine. She's pleasantly twisted. Albeit her whole plan to put the princess to sleep for eternity is a bit silly - she could have just said she would die from an infection or something. Though I, who tries to find a femslash reason for things in shows and etc, wonder if perhaps she kept her alive for other reasons... *massive sweatdrop*

Maleficent has a very kick ass outfit, btw. XD

Maleficent gave Sleeping Beauty the gift of death on her 18th birthday. Mistress Merriweather's gift was that she wouldn't die, but would sleep until true love kissed her.

Maleficent is a magnificent badass, and that's probably why she plays the main villain through much of the Kingdom Hearts games.

I do, however, like Prince John in Robin Hood, just because he was voiced by Peter Ustinov. "Ah, haa!"

On another note, they got Ursula back for the sequel movie, and she plays her sister. Same basic character, only thinner.

^^; Whoops. It's been a really long time since I've seen the movie, so my apologies. Thank you for correcting me. ^.^

I have so much appreciation for Maleficent. I think she's definitely one of the most sinister villains - later on, it seemed even the bad guys weren't exempt from comic relief, like with Jafar and Iago. Maleficent was all the more terrifying to me as a child because there was nothing to dilute her, nobody voiced by Robin Williams or somebody to distract from her.

My favorite is Scar form The Lion King simply because Jeremy Irons has the sexiest voice on earth. Maleficent is badass though.

last night on the porch, we were trying to place which movie that 'someday my prince will come' song came from, and it ended up on a conversation about disney villians, maleficent in specific and just how awesomely badass she is. ursula and scar, however, remain to be my favorites. perhaps it's because i only own sleeping beauty on beta and thus haven't seen in it in years. . .

Are we just doing movies? I can't say Demona?

Um, probably Jafar then. He would have gotten along just as well in a 30s serial picture.

Sincerely, Allaine

P.S. But I like Jenner from NIMH even more.

Ahaha, oh hell. That's cheating.

Maleficent, hands down, no questions. With me and my "powerful, competent older woman operating with moral flexibility" syndrome, I could quite be in love with her if she were real. :D

On another note, did I miss something? You started dating someone new? Um, congrats? :)

The worst villains I could remember had to be tied between Zira, who was so demented she preferred to die than join the pride, Scar, who brought a whole new level of sibling rivalry. The one that scared me the most as a child had to be Edgar, from The Aristocats. It was mostly because he seemed more real than the others, and I thought that if he could do that to cats, than what could he do to humans?
