Katie is a longtime DC Comics fan. Just as much as I am for Marvel. Her big love in the DCU is the Batfamily followed closely by Wonder Woman. Anywayyyy. Today we had a Batman movie marathon with a bunch of our friends. Well, a marathon of the good movies, that is. Namely the Burton and Nolan ones along with a few of the animated specials.

Watching Batman Returns makes me nostalgic for the fucking seductive awesome of Michelle Pfeiffer's Catwoman. I mean, I know her origins story in the movie is completely different from the comics but damn is she made of fierce and she really sold the part. I reserve judgement on Anne Hathaway but I find it hard to believe Michelle's portrayal can ever be topped.

Just rewatched it with Katie and the brother. Forgot how bad January Jones really is. She's totally like someone cosplaying Emma Frost at Comic Con. Sort of sad, if she wasn't in the movie, I think I'd love everything about it.

Just got back from seeing Clue in the theater. So good you guys. Remains one of my all time favorite comedies. That being said, it probably has the funniest movie moment to me with Madeline Kahn as Mrs. White.



I like this slightly better than flames along the side of my face. Just slightly though. Something about her high pitched scream just... amuses me to no end. So? What's your favorite funny movie moment? Or do you just love Clue? If you don't you really should. For it is awesome on all levels.

ETA: Another favorite of mine from Zoolander. Which I love almost as much as Clue.

I cannot wait. I'm going to see this tomorrow with my brother and Katie. I would've gone to a midnight show tonight but my brother really wanted to see it with me and he's wiped from studying for the bar exam so he couldn't do a midnight show.

I'm unnaturally attached to Cap because my mom got me a subscription to the Captain America comic book when I was eight years old to encourage my interest in reading and I've been hooked ever since. I know he's not the coolest superhero but he's a good, decent, honest guy and he's somehow not boring (to me anyway) despite this and thus he's my favorite superhero and I think with how great Marvel movies have been lately (I loved Iron Man 2, Thor, and X-Men First Class) that a period piece WWII Captain America movie should kick ass.

Oh yeah! Want an ear worm? Here's one from X-Men First Class soundtrack Love Love by Take That. Which is what I'm sure I'll be feeling about Cap's movie tomorrow. So excited you guys. I cannot wait to see him throw his mighty shield.

ETA: You guyssssss! SyFy is showing the bad Captain America movies tomorrow! I don't care. I'm dvr'ing those suckers and recording them for posterity. Awesome.

ETA ETA: Just got back from seeing the movie with my brother and Katie. I loved it! Chris Evans does a perfect job and it followed comic book canon so well I couldn't be happier. Even his original not round shield costume was used! And Bucky! And Peggy Carter! And Red Skull! And Nick Fury! And you guys, don't leave the theater early! Cool shit happens after the credits. Now I'm even more excited for The Avengers. So much awesome. I love Marvel.

Oh, Tea Party, will you ever not have horrible taste? I think not. For now you are pimping a movie based on the most boring of books, Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand. Yes, yes, this is the book of your rich white guy revolution. Fabulous. I employ the wisdom of South Park and Officer Barbrady to this and leave you to your government is evil rants.

I have way too much love for the fantasy genre to not laugh at all the obvious jokes about the tried and true plots and characterizations they're using in this movie. I can't wait to see it.

I have it around here somewhere. But, no, really... I'm totally reading a ton of Anakin/Padme fanfic because Spike TV had the prequel trilogy on today and even though Hayden can't act his way out of a bag and Natalie wasn't really trying I ship them hardcore. Anyyyyyway. My shipping and fandom nerdiness aside, Merry Christmas everybody!

You guyyyyys. Not since Princess Tutu has ballet been so kick ass. Also, hotness of Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis making out and surprisingly Mila Kunis being fucking scary. What the hell?

I had a really shitty day at work yesterday and I'm the type of person when something bad happens I rewind it over and over and over again in my head until I drive myself a bit crazy and a lot miserable. Wanting to stop this cycle I decided to watch some of the myriad of 80's movies I've bought for cheap over the past month to cheer me up.

Seriously, friendslist, I love me some 80's movies. Pretty much all of them in fact. Here's a rundown of some of my favorites:

Labyrinth, Sixteen Candles, Heathers, Goonies, Cloak & Dagger, Flight of the Navigator, Just One Of The Guys, Flashdance, Girls Just Want To Have Fun, Space Camp, Adventures In Babysitting, Mad Max Beyond The Thunderdome, Krull, Christine, The Neverending Story, Muppets Take Manhattan, The Running Man, Heavenly Kid, Amazon Women On The Moon, Breakin 2 Electric Boogaloo, Jumping Jack Flash, Last Starfighter, Weird Science, Princess Bride...

I could go on and on. So what about you? What are your favorite 80's movies? I bet I've seen them and if I haven't, hey, something new for me to watch!

Yumi's pigtails are very disturbing on a real girl. I'm unsure how I feel about everyone else. Sei and Rei are very cute though. I hope at some point someone will subtitle it.
