I've been working on it since my last post. It's getting pretty long and is basically a one shot dealing with Cara and Dahlia's time in the Mord'Sith told from Dahlia's point of view. Just because not many fics I've read go into Dahlia's head and I sort of like examining the different types of Mord'Sith if that makes sense. Cara being a fierce fighter and leader but Dahlia being more a tactician and planner. Still a leader, but relying more on brains than brawn. Trying to put it so they're equally powerful but their strengths lie in different areas.

Putting Triana in the fic for jealousy aspect and for fun. Hopefully it turns out good.

Vaguely considering writing an AU where Zedd reverses the spell of undoing and it brings them all back to the point where Dahlia finds Cara but with the knowledge of everything that happens. Cara being broken, Dahlia's death, and at that point Dahlia switches side to stay with Cara. Not sure if I want to invest the time in it though. I do like the idea of writing a longer AU fic for them though where they get a somewhat happy ending.

I think I just finished reading all the LotS femmeslash fics out there. There's not that many! o.O;;

I haven't seen a good Cara/Dahlia yet so I'm hoping yours will turn out well, too. You going to wait till the final ep airs so it's not completely AU?

Have you looked at LOTS Femslash (http://community.livejournal.com/lots_femslash/) or Seriousfic's commentfic prompt? (http://seriousfic.livejournal.com/383597.html) I found a handful of Cara and Dahlia fics that were pretty decent. Janine just posted one for Cara/Dahlia in the AU'verse where Cara is a schoolteacher that's great. The best fanfic I found was Within My Heart There Is Another Heart (http://scurvyknavery.livejournal.com/41808.html) which makes me really love fpreg which I usually have some level of disdain for. It's Cara/Kahlan, if you haven't read it.

I'll probably wait to post it just in case we get some miracle and Dahlia comes back to life in the season/series finale. Although, I might just end it with her death or when Cara is kicked out of the Mord'Sith. Not sure yet.

lol I've surprisingly read all of that. :) And what's stranger is that I usually like fpreg but for some reason that fic didn't really work for me...I think I got spoiled by another epic fpreg fic. lol

Melissa Good's A Journey of Soulmates (http://www.merwolf.com/ffiction.html) series (Xena). She does a good job with her fpreg.

For "Within my heart..." the cave thing was just weird. Not any less weird than a tree (which was what happens in the Xena one), but I think it tried too hard to be cracky. lol

Ohhh. I haven't read Xena fic in forever. I might have to read that when I'm done writing this Seeker fic. To be honest, I only skimmed the sex in a cave fic that was the prequel to Within My Heart There Is Another Heart. I liked how the aftermath of the magical baby sex was handled. The developing relationship and the parenting scenes. Usually I'm not too fond of such things.

I'm not sure fpreg can be done without a touch of crack in fantasy series though. lol. It's all kind of ridiculous. But not as bad as mpreg, imho.

LOL I was just puzzled when I first read "Within My Heart..." because I didn't have the cave prequel at my fingertips even though I knew OF the cave prequel (I read backwards because I was working from the roundups on lots_femmeslash). Once I had read it it just seemed like an inside joke, one that was kinda lame ("Powerful Magic" (tm)). lol

Do read the Xena one, it's very cute. :) The fpreg starts...oh, maybe one or two stories prior to the birth. The plot gets pretty bad though for the last one in the series. (I don't recommend that one)

I might write it. I want to see how the series/season finale ends up before I start plotting something out though. And I'm considering writing one or two fics from that spooning fic prompt post also.

I'd desert all my other fandom pairs for a good Dahlia/Cara happy ending fic. The show made me root so hard for those two; then all the wtfery with true love Leo pissed me off and made me root harder. :p Fandom would be so lucky for you to correct this injustice. Although before getting too deep into something lengthy, you might want to wait for the finale to air. I know the fic you described would be AU (well unless the producers have access to your brain), but there is a slim to nil chance Dahlia may make it out alive... or she may die (again) in really sucky fashion with no further interaction with Cara or closure on their relationship pissing you off and effectively killing any and all inspiration. :(

But more fic, please. lol.

A happy ever after story for the Mord'Sith seems a contradiction but I so want to write it. lol. I kind of like the idea of Dahlia traveling with them and the gang is all super wary of her and protective about Cara while being simultaneously baffled by the ease Cara and Dahlia's relationship. How they're able to know what the other is thinking with near blank expressions and making nondescript sounds and such. Plus you've got the whole, Cara loves Kahlan but she doesn't love love Kahlan, and Kahlan confessed her best girl in a moment of revenge Cara rage, making Dahlia wonder exactly what's between them, which would be an interesting dynamic to explore.

Still, I won't start plotting anything out until after the series/season finale. I might fill one or two of those spooning prompts though.

My definition of "happy ending" for those two is being alive and together living in domestic bliss. I don't care if its in a Mord'sith temple or following Richard god knows where. They just have to be together, NOT DEAD and sharing their compassion only with each other.

Your scenario with Dahlia traveling alongside the merry gang is so intriguing. And the Kahlan/Dahlia dynamic is built on mass potential win! I'm trying to control my premature squeeage.
