Turkey Day! Otherwise known as celebrate the fake friendship of the American Indians and the uptight everyone is persecuting us Pilgrims day! Whee. Hah. No, Thanksgiving is okay with me. It's just a boring holiday though it does involve turkey which is the best food ever. Yum. I love me some turkey almost as much as I love me some chicken. Annnnd yeah. I'm very Midwest today.

Michi was really pleased about Thanksgiving because it's the first time she really actually did something close to... err... celebrating it or at least following the traditional way of spending Thanksgiving as most Americans tend to do. By, you know, eating turkey and watching football or just watching television in general and hanging out. I guess her family just spends it like any other day and when I asked her to come to my Aunt's house for Thanksgiving with my family she was all excited and chirped, "I get to be white!" lol. So she was feeling very Caucasian today. Which meant that all her kick ass Dance Dance Revolution moves went out the door since whitey can't dance.

My Aunt Carol had Thanksgiving because her daughter, my cousin Stephanie, has two kids, Olivia and Noah who she adopted. They're barely five years old and really sweet but a little hyperactive and sort of... okay, they're really spoiled. lol. Stephanie is a nurse and they both have medical conditions, Noah more serious than Olivia who is pretty much like completely healthy now. Noah has heart problems that are... sort of similar to my own but way more serious and can't really be dealt with fully by having medications. He's had some operations and actually, we're hopeful because he's one of those cases where doctors were like he won't live to be one and now he's fucking five almost. So there! lol. But my family has a rule where whoever has kids that are the youngest get to host the big holidays at their house with everyone else bringing the food and whatnot because fucking hey, kids are a big pain in the ass and best to go to where they live rather than trying to transport them around and taking their toys and gifts and whatever the hell all over the place.

Thus us being at my aunt's place today. My pug, Vlad, is a total baby and attention whore and I was like, "I better bring him or he'll be pouting all day because he'll be alone." Since Pip and Stacey were at Stacey's parents house for Turkey Day. We left Michi's Shitzu, Missy, at her apartment because her dog is bitchy and completely autonomous. That dog don't need no one. lol. But for like two hours upon getting there Olivia kept shrieking and running away from Vlad whenever she saw him insisting that she's scared of him. Okay, the kid has like... played with him at least thirty something times and they have three cats in their house and she's acting scared of my pug which is super tiny and super friendly and super harmless? I kept him on a leash until she calmed down though.

Fun part was around nine o'clock and Michi was laughing her ass off at my brother and my father and me. I swear, it was her moment of bonding with my mother too. Plus my aunt. But Aunt Carol, like everyone else I know, has a fake Christmas tree you know? And she's in her late sixties so for the past few years every Thanksgiving we go and get her tree out for her and set it up. We decided to go and do this around nine pm and go downstairs and lug up her tree piece by piece. I've got the bottom, my brother the middle, my dad the top. We haul it upstairs and then proceed to try to assemble this tree for more than an hour. Normally we get it done fast but she bought a new tree for whatever reason this year and the fucking thing was evil! It didn't go into the usual slots of assembling when you have the main iron bar that holds the tree pieces together.

Blerh. So it takes more than an hour, right? And like... JUST as we finish putting it together? Michi ambles up from the basement with my mother and my aunt where they were looking at various Christmas stuff my aunt has and they're all giggling and girly and generally cute until Michi holds up a tape and grins at me and my brother and my father who are all fucking exhausted from assembling this huge ass evil new fake Christmas tree and is like, "We just found the instructional video for assembling the new tree!"

Ha Ha Ha. Yes, that is so funny. Women. Why the fuck am I one? I want a penis. Not really. I think running with a penis has to be uncomfortable for some reason and besides, I like having large breasts and guys with breasts unless they're MTF or Drag Queens is not cool. Plus there is the fact I enjoy being a big old dyke.

But women!

I got my free l-word.com fanfic award winner t-shirt today and for some reason I'm highly amused by the shirt. I have tons of shirts sort of like this, ones from winning various weird crap and from working at conventions. Such as the pink t-shirt for Yuricon Security that I either swiped or wheedled my way into getting from Pat when he worked on that for the convention. I forget. Anyway, I have all these shirts and they totally amuse me but I never wear them. I have weird standards on shirts and for some reason I never wear the free ones. Hmmm.

But my t-shirt that says Homosexuals Are Gay! oh I wear that all the time. lol. But I like free things so t-shirt, yay! Hee. I also got my copy of Punk Goes Metal today which is typically kick ass. What else? Oh yeah, on Wednesday I went in for my first day at Moolah Theatre and I left at 3 pm about three hours sooner than my shift ended because 1) They wanted to pay me in cash and didn't want me to fill out any W2 Tax forms 2) They wanted to pay me two dollars less than promised.

Dude, I never work for the cash thing. I haven't since I was like sixteen. That shit is shady and under the table and no no no no... but annoying. It's such a pimp theatre. Too bad they're, well, shady with their payment methods and lying about salary rates. Oh well. I have an interview on Monday with Teavana which is this high end tea store in the Galleria mall which is close to where I live and again with the yay on cheaper gas driving to work if I get this gig.

Plus Gay Chris works FT at the Walden Books at Galleria and I could visit him if I worked there. Plus Galleria is a fancy gay populated mall and blah blah blah.

EDITED TO ADD: Okay, I just visited Pat's LJ and the Drupa website and my god. rofl. This is brilliant shite! Since I'm sort of known for sharing random music I must share this musical link with all. This is funny fucking stuff. Drupa is apparently a European publishing company and they create a theme song each year about the company and here are some of them. Man, this is why Europeans are so much cooler than us. We never do fun stuff like this for our companies. lol. I love the 2004 song lyrics, "About a half a million fair visitors praise Drupa very high. And to give you a piece of advice? They will tell you about... welcome to Drupa City Düsseldorf! Drupa is the number one worldwide. You are on the right side! Drupa puts you in the spotlight."

Bwahaha. Here's the website: http://www.messe-duesseldorf.de/drupa/en/sp_song_2.html

Pat I do love you. This is great. Thank you.
