Listen To This! Within Temptation Covers Kate Bush

I've been listening to a near constant stream of symphonic metal since my birthday because I was given Tarja Turunen's solo album as a present. I've found a good deal of torrents and even a debatably legal website called MP3 Fiesta which has tons of great imported music for cheap download prices. Which is great for me since I tend to be an imported music whore. Especially when it comes to pop and metal as I think Europe and Japan/Korea kick our asses thoroughly in creating good music for those genres.

One of the bands I've been listening to a lot is Within Temptation, a symphonic metal band from The Netherlands. They kick much ass and I adore their lead singer, Sharon den Adel, who has a gorgeous voice. I also adore cover songs. In fact, I'm sort of an obsessive fan of them which is why I really delighted in finding their cover of Kate Bush's song Running Up That Hill. I'm linking both songs for comparison. For the sake of cover song lover information I'll also tell you Placebo does a good cover of it but I'm in a Within Temptation and Sharon worshipping mode so I'm just giving you this cover.

While I do think Kate Bush is such a totally unique and quirky ass singer it's hard for people to equal her performances I believe Sharon did a decent job with this cover. It's just that her voice is so damn pretty. I really do love it.
