I go through these odd periods where I seem to regress in my femslash reading habits. Although I'm not sure regression is the right word. Maybe revisiting is more appropriate. I have these urges to read stories from the fandoms that first started my interest in femslash like Xena, Star Trek Voyager, and Buffy among others.
Lately my fanfic reading tangent has been focused solely on Star Trek Voyager and in particular the Seven/Janeway fic. Honestly, they were the best thing about that show for me. They had great chemistry and were so much fun to watch together. Enough that I can get over the slight squick factor of Janeway being so much older than Seven. Of course, it helps that Seven is a Borg enhanced genius with the knowledge of thousands of species in her brain. I think that sort of evens things out.
The only thing about Voyager I truly disliked was the Janeway affair with the holoprogam character Michael Sullivan and then Seven's out of nowhere cortical node inspired romance with Chakotay. Although I consider the latter something like an adolescent crush since Seven was heavily influenced by her emotions no longer being repressed. Something you can fix easily in a good fanfic.
I'm considering buying it on dvd since it's without a doubt my favorite Star Trek series and I have the nerdiest love for Kate Mulgrew and her badass Captain voice. If this little obsession keeps up I might have to write a Janeway/Seven post Endgame fanfic after I finish with my Harry Potter fanfic. I'm not sure how much longer that one is going to go on seeing as I haven't plotted a discernable ending yet.
Yeah... I should do that. I do have half of the new chapter written though.
I've also been on a Leigh Nash kick lately. I had no idea the wealth of wonderful material she had out there. I especially love her songs with Rin and Delerium. Right now she's battling with Heather Nova over my prettiest female singing voice award. She might actually be winning to tell you the truth, I love her that much. Be warned though, I do love Leigh but this music video and song are super duper romantic fluff mushy. If you can't handle it don't watch/listen.
