Erica + Adam = FTW

I dunno what it is with my soaps lately but they're the fandom thing I enjoy the most lately. Although The Tudors is starting back up on Sunday and I have a fangirl crush on Jane Seymour so I should be obsessing on that soon enough. lol. Anyway! Erica Kane and Susan Lucci have always been my reason for watching All My Children nonstop and one of my favorite pairings with her has always been Adam Chandler played by David Canary who, other than Lucci, is the soap veteran that plays one of the most iconic show characters.



Erica and Adam are so much alike that they're hilarious together, just scheming and brilliant and terrific. Promos have been pimping a storyline for Adam and today we got a bit of a mystery when he disappeared from the hospital he's been staying at in Philadelphia so JR and Tad go looking for him. They find his hospital roommate and discover Adam (who was in the hospital using his twin brother Stuart's name) has been doing Stuart like things such as sketching constantly while there. What does he sketch? Really good portraits of Erica but instead he said it was Lottie who is Adam's dead sister.

Today Erica goes back to her hotel room and there's Adam looking strangely dashing in a bad boy type look that included a denim jacket that looked quite nice on him and he lays a big old kiss on Erica which eventually she returned in full force. I'm sorry, but I love them so much as a couple I did let out an actual squee of delight and clapped my hands at this. lol. I have no idea what the heck is going on with Adam, maybe his stroke or whatever caused his brain to short circuit and he thinks he's Stuart now since he used Stuart's name or his personality has been altered, but I love him with Erica.

I hope this storyline gets expanded and keeps going because honestly, I don't care how old they are, as long as I don't have to see the soap version of a sex scene (tame as they are) I will keep squeeing over Adam and Erica getting airtime as a romantic couple. I don't want to see them in bed since it's a bit squick as they're an older couple but the characters are so very kick ass and perfect and awesomely entertaining together and the people who portray them are just made of win I really want a romantic story for them.

Just for the hell of it here are some videos. The first has Erica telling Adam's kids, JR and Colby, that she loves Adam "like ice cream" which for some reason amused me greatly. The scene starts at 2:14 with the ice cream line at 3:52. I really adore how Colby is so curious about Erica loving Adam and admits to wanting Erica to be in love with him again. lol. Colby is a sweetheart, she's so cute with her family and I'm curious to see how she'll be with the Liza recast.

The second has the kiss I squee'd over. Admit it! Adam looks dashing in denim. lol. I dunno why but he does. Or at least he does to me. The Erica and Adam scene starts 1:36 into the video.

I caught the last ten minutes of the show this afternoon and only saw the kiss but man, I gotta say Adam did look kinda hot when he laid that big wet one on Erica!

ITA, about the sex scenes it's like watching my grandparents go at it, LOL but I prefer A & E to watching David paw at Krystal.

Oh, and can Annie please break out of the loony bin and stab/shoot/knock Ryan out for trying to hit on Kendall while she's worried about her son making it through heart surgery. Honestly, he's only interested in Kendall when someone else wants her. He did the same thing way back when with Boyde and Aidan.

What's up with the Liza (with a Z) recast?

Here's what's up with the recast. (http://www.soapoperasource.com/amc/news/melrose-alum-jamie-luner-cast-on-all-my-children.html) It could be really good or really bad. I liked Luner on Melrose Place so hopefully she'll do Liza right. I just don't want to see Liza with a southern accent.

Adam and Erica sex scene would be like watching your grandparents do it hence the squick factor but I love them soooo much together. I really want them to get a romantic storyline because they're a thousand times more interesting than the younger "hot" characters on the show.

Sorry to say I remain a Ryan fangirl. I'm really sick of Zach and Kendall as a couple and I'm rooting for Ryan to break them up for a good amount of time. At this point Zach is the character that bugs me the most just because I agree with all the points Ryan makes about him causing destruction and never getting punished for it. I'm also sick of how he seems to get involved in multiple storylines on the show. Zach's over exposed to me and I'm tired of the character.

Lunar is awesome, I was just watching one of her made for t.v. movies on the Lifetime channel yesterday and another where she dropped the accent.

Funny, your views on Zach is the exact reasons I dislike Ryan. He seems like a over exposed playboy who has never really earned anything that he has, I think the last legitimate job he had was that weird 'Make your dreams come true' company he and Leo started but quickly went belly up. The only character I've ever really liked him with was Gillian but since Lunar will be playing Liza maybe they can hook up again? She is totally hot!!!

To be frank, I would be happy if they got rid of both Zach and Ryan. They have similar character problems but with the show setting them up as "enemies" right now it's pretty easy to make viewers choose sides and I surprised myself by finding Ryan the lesser evil right now.

Ryan hasn't earned anything he's been given but ultimately he's not really a character which alters a show. He's in storylines and he's always around but he doesn't change the essence of AMC. But with Zach, the more he gets this dark almost mafia edge I see the show shifting into something that could turn into what happened on GH where Sonny's character got so popular he essentially took over the show. I see that potentially happening with Zach. This is something that will never ever happen with Ryan.

Also, as douchey as Ryan has been over the years and I admit he has been a huge douche. He's never done the same cold things Zach has shown himself capable of such as the purposeful killing of Josh.

I would be very much surprised if Liza recast isn't there for a romance with Tad and to further unite Erica and Adam since she's supposedly wanting custody of Colby again.

I find myself fast forwarding through the show waiting for Reese to show up. But I can't help but stop when Adam and Erica are on or when Angie is on. I love these characters. They are the epitome of awesome.
