I Gasped Out Loud

When I found out Stacy was pregnant on today's One Life To Live. I've been watching this soap since I was seven years old, same as All My Children, and I consider myself a soap veteran in terms of viewing but I still gasped. lol. It amuses me.



I'm working on the first chapter of a new My Otome fic called Fragile Things. It's going to be super angsty and focuses on Shizuru/Haruka as a couple. I'm honestly not sure if I'm going to go back to A Thousand Glimpses when I'm done with this fic and finish it. I guess it depends on my mood. I want to finish A Thousand Gimpses just to have it over and done with but it's not all plotted out. I do better finishing projects when I plot them out from start to finish which, I swear to god, I plan on doing from now on. The angsty My Otome fic is plotted out scene by scene from the first chapter to the last so I can't get stuck/bored/lazy in the middle of it.

I've had an idea for awhile for another Harry Potter fanfic focusing on Fleur/Hermione. It would take place after Deathly Hallows and Victoire had finished at Hogwarts while Rose and Hugo are still there. Fleur gets bored of being a housewife and after some finagling on Ron's part comes to work as Hermione's assistant at the Department of Magical Law Enforcement. From there the two women begin to bond and get closer until eventually they start having an affair with one another. I'm not sure how I'd work in the veela background established in No Defense For You since I really like it but it kind of provides a roadblock to them having an affair. Maybe go with the theory that Fleur's blood is diluted enough that she didn't really go through any courtship ritual with Bill and she only realizes through working with Hermione that's who she was really meant to be with? I'm not sure. I like the idea of them having a work related affair as adults with kids though. Not sure why but it appeals to me.

The other idea I had is Luna/Hermione and would be an alternate universe version of Deathly Hallows where Hermione gets captured by Death Eaters when she and Harry visit Godric's Hollow after Ron abandons them. Hermione ends up at Malfoy Manor with Luna and the others where she's tortured for information on Harry and blah blah and while she's imprisoned she grows close with Luna who, really, seemed to be the rock in that place that held everyone else together. I think it could really work in that capacity because even if Hermione has feelings for Ron I think him abandoning them and her getting tortured while captured after he left would sort of alter that. She wouldn't blame Ron for anything but it would change her feelings to some degree. Especially if Luna was there that whole time, taking care of her and keeping her sane in the situation. Plus Hermione is the only one that returns for her seventh year to take her N.E.W.T.s so I could easily have her and Luna further develop their relationship at Hogwarts in Hermione's last year and Luna's sixth while Ron and Harry aren't around.

Anyway! Those are just some fanfic things going on in my head lately.

really? you couldnt see that coming? Because you know the kid is gonna be Shane's donor now...it's so freaking obvious, it almost makes me sick

With Rex's father back it seems unnecessary to have her pregnant. That's why I was surprised by the move. Despite who is dad is I don't see him denying more stem cells to Shane and besides that, they have the bag of blood and if Shane goes out of remission he's going to need chemo, not just more transfusions sooo... the having a kid for a stem cell donor seems sort of pointless plot wise.

But whatever. I continue to be weirdly surprised by soaps. It's why I like them. I also don't put a lot of thought into shows I watch for mindless entertainment. That's probably why I don't end up jaded like a lot of longtime soap viewers and I'm just not that smart I suppose.

See I'm not watching religiously...but my mom has been ranting for weeks...she keeps saying "shes gonna be pregnant..shes gonna be pregnant" so I guess that's why I'm not surprised lol

I put no thought into my soaps at all which is why I can enjoy them, I think. I also never take them seriously. Stacy is fiercely annoying though. The whole storyline with her Rex and Gigi is starting to wear on my nerves though I love OLTL so much more than AMC these days which continues to bore me with the "Who killed Stuart?" storyline.

yeah I'm not really watching any of them. I hear my mom rant, and she tells me whats happening..and rarely I catch an episode. That's about the extent of my knowledge.

To be honest, none of my friends online or IRL watch soaps but I have obsessively for years. It's like my not so secret shame and/or addiction so I don't speak of them much. lol. I only talk about them occasionally on my LJ when I find myself particularly amused by something that's gone on.

Not sure why Fleur and Hermione having a work related affair would appeal to you? Two words: HOT DESK SEX!!!!! (okay three words)

Love the idea for the Luna/Hermione fic, having them grow closer while imprisoned sounds great, it always bothered me that Harry forgave Ron so easily for any slight yet Hermione had to work twice as hard to be forgiven every time she pissed Harry off, even when she had his best interests in mind.

I wouldn't write desk sex though. It hadn't even occurred to me to be honest. That's a bit sad but it's the truth.

I never thought about it but you're right, Hermione did have to work a lot harder than Ron did in terms of being forgiven for slighting Harry even when she was doing it out of a real concern for his well being. Yeesh. That's lame.

Luna in the spectre specs pleased me greatly when I saw HBP. I just wish they had shown her announcing for Quidditch and being asked to go to the party by Harry.

Hello! Just browsing through your journal randomly and saw this post! I've actually been looking through the internet for a good Fleur/Hermione fic for when they're all grown up, and haven't been able to find anything of the sort. I think your fic would be extremely appealing. In your post-kids fic, would Bill and Ron know of their affair and be supportive? Or is that going to be one of the roadblocks? Either way, should be pretty interesting. =)
