The job that I've been waiting on? The government contracted one? The one with the endless FBI background check? I got in contact with the Defense Logistics Agency and they completed both of my background checks. One in December the other in the start of January. So today I call Alutiiq and ask what's up with my job. My contact there has been transferred and the lady says she'll get back to me when she figured it out.

No call after five hours so I call her. Guess what? MY JOB NO LONGER EXISTS. I've waited months and months for a job that I can no longer have and I've turned down other jobs in the process!

Overall I tend to be someone who doesn't dwell on the shitty things in life. I don't think it serves any purpose to be that way but this? This I think I'll dwell on for awhile. I just... my life sucks so hard right now... and I hate it. I really fucking hate it and to lesser extent I sort of hate myself too.

This may sound odd since we don't know each other, but for what it's worth, I'm sorry about the job situation. That really does suck and it seems like bureaucracy at it's finest...All the best to you and here's hoping some decent prospects come your way.

you don't need anyone telling you how hard that sucks, because it's patently obvious, so I won't. All I can say is that I really hope it gets better for you, and really soon. :(

I'm going through the same thing with a different govt agency, so I know all about the suckage of waiting to hear from people and how they love to give the runaround and all that jazz. Still, that's really shitty that now the job no longer exists. But hopefully you'll find something else, equally as good, soon. Here's hoping!

Welcome to government service. It's good they completed your background checks, now you can update your resume and repost it. If you haven't already go to USAJOBS.com and look around. Also, the Census Bureau is hiring. I don't know the website but do a search and you will find it. One other site, OPM.GOV (office of personnel management). Good luck and keep trying.

It's not a welcome to anything and since I've been unemployed for months there's nothing to update on my resume. Just a huge fucking job gap thanks to this.

I've worked for the government before and I've never been this screwed over in terms of a job process. Excuse me if I'm bitter.

I'm aware of both websites. Thanks though.

Sorry to hear about the job. Don't hate yourself though because of someone else's incompetence. I am out of a job and can definitely sympathize with you on this.

Hi. I know you don't need me telling you how hard that sucks. I know you don't need me chiming in with some story of shared shittiness, because I'm in the same sort of place. I'll say to you what I've been saying to myself: "things will pick up. Things have to pick up. I do not deserve to have worked this hard to be this shafted." And also (this is all for you, and not for me) I really like your AMC story, and I don't even watch AMC. Thank you - THANK you - for keeping me entertained.
