All right. I've been involved with fandom long enough to know it's totally batshit at times. Which is why I love Fandom Wank because it chronicles the batshit. What has been chronicled there lately is the epically retarded story of Russet Noon which is basically a fan trying to publish her fanfic as a book and make money then going crazy when people tell her she can't do this. Not before she states that no character can be copyrighted because they come from some sort of weird ass universal hive mind of consciousness.

Yeah. I know. :::Does Kathy Griffin Sing Song Impression::: Batshiiiiit.

It's exploded this week into a swirling vortex of crazy as the fan author aka insane person decided to blame all her problems on the person who posted to Fandom Wank by publishing their personal information, such as address and phone number, on the web. There was also a Wikipedia and Fan History editing war which was pretty brutal. Yeahhhhhh. Not good people. But there is a saving grace in all this fan related fail and that lies with Peter David who has decided to turn crazy fan's theory on the universe coming up with all ideas to poach hers and do a round robin telling of Russet Noon which is now called Potato Moon Rising. If sold all profits go to charity.

I think I might just have to add an entry. This is too hilarious. It still doesn't make up for his involvement in Scans Daily crash and burning and then the gigantic race fail wank but ehhh... it's funny never the less.

This is exactly why I love surfing the web, in RL people try so hard to hide their crazy but on the net everyone let's their freak flag fly!!!

I'm almost tempted to root for this crazy person just to see how far she'll get before the authorities shut her down, LOL. But then again, these are always the type of situations that come back to bite us in the ass. About ten years ago when I was just starting to dip my toe into fan fiction reading, there was a scuffle on a OLTL website that ending with charges being pressed and everyone having to add that really annoying disclaimer to whatever they posted.

Hopefully, this person will come to their senses and drop this nonsense but until then, I'm popping over to the site to watch the insanity.

I wouldn't root for this person by any measure. They released someone's personal address and phone number out of crazy ass spite over the interwebs. That's just a huge asshole move.
