Lets face it, the new Star Wars movies sucked. There's no two ways around it. They were bad, just painfully bad at times. But Darths & Droids takes that suckiness and transforms it into pure funny. I love this comic and I'm someone who knows very little about old school roleplaying games.

Simple way to put it? Jar Jar is hilarious in this comic. Jar Jar. I'm super serial you guys. Go read it!

I thought you liked that last Star Wars movie! I even remember reading your review of it, and I think you liked the casting for the younger versions of Spock and Kirk. And Karl Urban is in it and I love him.

I loved the new Star TREK movie. I'm talking about Star WARS. You know, The Force, Jedis, whiny young version of Darth Vader who sucked... the only good thing in the new Star Wars movies was Samuel L Jackson as Mace Windu and Natalie Portman looking hot.

Yeah, I wasn't really sold on Claire Danes as Yvaine either, but it wasn't as bad as I thought. And Ben Barnes does have a goofy quality to him, but I got used to it by the end of the movie. And who can hate anything where Sienna Miller gets her comeuppance? Come on. I'll bet you didn't even like the witches, and they were clearly entertaining.

I know you're teasing me but StarDUST because I'm just that anal.

Should I keep going? Because I can. There's The Last Starfighter, Rock Star, Starman, Bright Star, Stargate...

Shall I torture you for days?

Depends on how much you like/dislike me.

It's so sad how I thought "Claire Danes is someone in Star Wars?" I still haven't seen any of the movies yet. Will is starting to get on my case about it.

I only saw the last of the prequels at the behest of my then gf. It was sort of ridiculous and melodramatic. (Maybe I shouldn't be saying this where Dreiser can hear me.) Long story short, feel free to continue resisting.

I take that back. I have seen the same section of the one where the little boy drives the floaty cars multiple times. It seemed to always be on when I would be in the gym. I don't really know what was happening because closed captioning can be quite dodgy at times, but I think the take home is that he was an adorable little thing before he turned to the dark side.

I haven't seen the old Star Wars movies yet either, even though my husband owns them.

I like saying this in front of Dreiser because she just tells me I should watch, and then seems to think that the fact I haven't seen movies like Bambi, any of the Star Wars movies, Jurassic Park and billions of other movies is somehow endearing rather than recognising it for the lameness it truly is.

Bambi will just make you cry. There's a reason I don't own it despite I'm a Disney whore who goes to see every animated movie they release in theaters and buys 99% of everything they make on dvd.

And in retrospect, Jurassic Park isn't that good anyway. However, the original Star Wars are worth seeing. Definitely not the prequels though.

I wouldn't encourage anyone to see the Star Wars prequels unless they're really into Natalie Portman and her prettiness. I'm shallow that way.

Haha, Will thinks it's funny that I think I'm a nerd for not being able to distinguish between Trek/Wars but that most people would think someone is a nerd for being able to make the distinction. Will has a lot of the movies of both on DVD though, so eventually, I will watch

Ohhhh. You know how I always get those two confused!

You're so cute sometimes.
Monday, February 1st, 2010 05:58 am (UTC)
haha. You know, it actually feels good when you say that because I know it's actually lame when I say things like, "So, like, is Luke Skywalker friends with Captain Kirk or what? How do they hang out, if Captain Kirk is such an egotist?"
Monday, February 1st, 2010 05:59 am (UTC)
Oh, and YES. I did say this to Will once, back when we were way younger. And he looked at me and was like, "THOSE ARE TWO TOTALLY DIFFERENT MOVIES!" And I STILL get them confused sometimes. It's just that there so man sequels and stuff to both of them! And they're both in SPACE and...you know...they both have Star in the title.

It's just funny because traditionally the nerd fandoms of Star Wars and Star Trek have always fueded. Star Wars fans liked to act as if their fandom was less nerdy and had more... normal people while Star Trek was inhabited by hardcore basement dwelling peeps who learned how to speak Klingon for fun.

Now since the new Star Wars movies came out and sucked ass and the revamped Star Trek movie came out and was totally cool and has created a shiny new fandom it seems like their fortunes have been reversed.

"Jar Jar, you're a genius!"
