A few people have been reading my Whip It fanfics featuring Babe Ruthless and Iron Maven without seeing the movie, which is most flattering, but still! The movie needs seeing because it's adorable and Juliette Lewis is hot. lol. I own the dvd so I haven't downloaded any torrents for the movie but a friend says this torrent is of decent quality. You'll need a torrent client like Azureus though.

Anyway! Download the movie and watch. It's fab and you can see the mad subtext for yourselves.

In the meantime, I'm working on a sequel to my sequel. I'm not sure if I'll just end things with this latest fic and have a little fanfic trilogy for Ruthless/Maven but who knows. I'm having fun writing for this ship, that's for certain.

I put my copy of Whip It on my PS3 so I can watch it on my tv instead of my laptop screen!!! Watched it again last night to cheer me up!

And yay for the sequel to the sequel!

Nice. I ripped a copy of the dvd so I could watch the movie on my computer. It's nice to have it there easily for referencing when I write. Yeah, I'm that nerdy. lol. I have the sequel to a sequel all plotted out. I just need to get to writing.

Mine's a ripped copy as it's never been released here. I'd happily pay for it but the powers that be have decided the UK cannot have!

I know from the pm you sent me you're aware of the fact I'm a Eurovision fangirl. Anyway, that coupled with my love of imported Japanese horror movies and other things not available in the USA caused me to purchase an all regions dvd player. They're surprisingly affordable. I have two of them now and one I've had for at least seven or eight years without anything going wrong.

If you ever decide to get one I've got mine from regionfreedvd.net (http://www.regionfreedvd.net/) and they gave me good customer service both times. I did research on the dvds before I bought from there but the JVC and Toshiba I own worked out really well.

If I ever actually buy a proper DVD player I'll get one that's region free but in my living room I use my games consoles to play my DVDs and there are issues with getting them chipped, and my bedroom player was a present many years ago!!

We'll have to have a Eurovision discussion at some point. I will be doing posts about it in the build up to it at the end of May!

Yes, we should. I tend to start massive Eurovision posting once all of the contestants have been chosen and videos for the song entries are up on YouTube. I throw a viewing party where we hook up my laptop to my friend's HD tv and watch it streaming live. I'm dorky enough that I keep a commentary of what I think as the show airs and then when it's all done with, I post that along with the YouTube videos of the live performances on my LJ.

My Eurovision tag sadly reveals my obsession. I got a LJ message the other day from some group for Eurovoice (?) I guess they're a Eurovision rip off? I'm sad Terry Wogan isn't doing commentary anymore. He always cracks me up. I'm just not as fond of Graham Norton.

So you watch the BBC coverage! I'm not yet convinced about Graham Norton doing it, I thought they should have let Paddy O'Connell who does the semi-finals to do the final. Terry was great until his final year, by which point he was too bitter and twisted and was talking through most of the songs.

I follow a website set up by Irish fans that has updates about all the songs so I know once they've all been picked. I then tend to post about my faves. I then also buy the album when it comes out!

I host a Eurovision party every year called Cheesefest - cheesy music plus lots of european cheeses (and some wine)! It's a lot of fun!

Before I started hosting the party I used to do posts on here that I'd write live while watching the final!!

I watch the streaming version on eurovision.tv since it has the best quality. I haven't found a BBC live version streaming online thus far. However, I do own a variety of dvds from the shows over the years that have Sir Terry's commentary on them. He was geting really bitter towards the end but, I swear, the 2003 show in Latvia would have been SO boring without his commentary.

There's a [livejournal.com profile] eurovision community on LJ that gives pretty good updates. I really want to go see Eurovision live someday. I think it would be the most fun thing ever.

I don't think eurovision will allow the BBC to stream it as we're normally taking the piss out of the acts!

I'd love to see it live as well, but then I wouldn't be able to host my party. It's been a while since it was last in the UK!

The year it was held in Finland my best friend was there at the time for another reason and bought me a Eurovision hoodie and sent me a postcard which has a special Eurovision postmark on it!
