I always get into cancelled shows. I've been meaning for awhile to watch Legend of the Seeker because I read the book series awhile ago and enjoyed it a fair amount (especially the bits about evil manifest chickens) but just never got into it. I've just finished watching all of the current episodes and now I want to write fanfic. lol. I'm so fucking fickle about this shit. I ship the tragically doomed and awesome background relationship of Cara/Dahlia.

I know the main femslash ship is Cara/Kahlan for this fandom and I get why it is, they are cute as hell and have the chemistry but it's hard to get around Kahlan and Richard's epic love (which is so sweet, imho) and Kahlan killing Cara with her confessor powers if she has an awesome orgasm during sex with Cara and really, who wouldn't?

I'm not writing anything until the season/series finale but I do want to do some sort of one shot fanfic for Cara and Dahlia and their past together during the Mord'Sith training which would bring back ultra fun Triana and Denna. Yay on that. Seriously though, why do all the good shows get cancelled before their time? It's like a rule.

Only way I could think of writing Cara and Kahlan fanfic would be to employ that potion Gellar created or something that would make Cara immune to confession. Kahlan already has feelings for Cara and vice versa and I think being about to have non-killing-slave-making sexytimes with Cara would push her ahead of Richard in the affections race plus the whole, she loves Richard but she doesn't have the same passion for him as she does Cara. Who knows though. I'm more into the whole history between Dahlia and Cara because their love is fucked up and tragic.

Also? These videos are fucking awesome.

Yes, a thousand times yes!!!! I can't wait for you to write it!

Doomed and Tragic is the only way to describe Cara/Dahlia, and totally intriguing because of that. If you juxtapose the idea of how they were together before Cara got booted out of the Morth Sith knitting circle and went all redeemend anti-hero-y, against how they related in the last episode it is so fascinating. It's like a former addict meeting their partner ten years later after she got clean and her mate is still 'chasing the dragon'. Crack is whack, Dahlia! Put down the pipe!

ITA agree about the Richard/Kahlan gospel of love making it hard to write a Cara/Kahlan. I wrote one Cara/Kahlan fic and then thought "Hm, I want to wrote more C/K, but there this is bigggggg cannon Mountain in my way." That's why when Dahlia showed up I wrote a story right away and it seems like a lot of other femslash writers were inspired too (I recommend Fembucks and SeriousFic's, if looking for good one shots) among many of the femslash fic writers. That episode just unleashed the femslash dam!

Well, it's a huge backstory they've established in one little episode. Cara and Dahlia are both from Stocroft, they grew up together, then they got captured by Nathair at the same time and were trained together by the Mord'Sith.

By the time Cara leaves the Mord'Sith to travel with Richard they've probably spent 20+ years together and that's a gigantic wealth of history. There are so many stories to tell in that time period, countless really. Plus all the AU stories people could go with saying that Dahlia didn't turn on Cara and traveled with her and the others instead. Or what if they ran away from the Mord'Sith and raised her kid with Darken Rahl together.

Doooo it~! I'll read it! :D I'm in the middle of my LotS marathon (trying to catch up with s2). I'm with you on the doomed pairing - the "forbidden" should be fun to figure out how to write. The potion might be too easy - the doppleganger sequence where Kahlan got split might be another avenue to explore. I think I read one where someone did something kinky about agiels...

The potion is an easy cop out for the Kahlan problem but it's all my brain could come up with. I'm more interested in Cara's history with Dahlia. They gave such a great and immense backstory, or hint of one, in just a single episode with those two it's just awesome.

It's the latest episode S2E20 Eternity. Really great stuff that makes me super mourn the cancellation of this show.

Finally got caught up and saw the ep! :) Very interesting ep! Too bad Tabrett doesn't give that many interviews about her role as Cara. She's got a pretty good fanbase now, I figure. ;D

I just love how the Cara/Dahlia fics can branch out. I felt like a lot of the fandom was unfortunately stuck with this somewhat linear looking timeline with Kahlan having Richard vs. Cara affections. Dahlia adds a new facet to that fandom.

Then, of course, it's going to be amazing all in itself. There was such a rich, rich backstory to Cara and Dahlia. I was honestly surprised that it was so developed (I'm skeptical after the Trianna/Cara kiss). I want to see how this fandom blossoms. :)

It's pretty amazing what a great backstory they established in one episode. The last one... ehhhh. It was nowhere near as good and disappointing to say the least but there are so many possibilities for stories with Cara and Dahlia whether they be based in canon during their time as Mord'Sith and in Stowcroft or AU where the events in Unbroken went a bit differently.

Cara/Kahlan is a great ship, but for myself, writing them is a huge challenge with such a gigantic canon true love relationship to get around. And it doesn't help that I genuinely like Richard and Kahlan as a couple. I just like Cara more.

Yeah, the last episode was pretty mediocre compared to some of the previous episodes we've gotten and Zedd's Leo explanation made my eye twitch. I'm so-so with Richard and Kahlan being together. I liked them more as a couple in the books even though they kind of irritated me with their behavior when they were around each other. They're a little less solid to me in the TV series, but that definitely doesn't stop them from being so canon.
