X-Men has been my favorite superhero team since I was a kid despite my massive fangirl love for Captain America and Beast defecting temporarily I love them more than even The Avengers.

I think the X-Men appeal to almost all superhero fans because everyone can relate to the feeling of being an outsider or being different. It's especially easy to relate to the X-Men since they're mutants and what makes them different is their genetics which they can't exactly change. Of course, as much as I enjoy being a big ole lesbian, dude, it would be sweet to have some bad ass mutant powers. Maybe kick ass teleportation like Blink. As much as I love Kurt I'm not digging the stinky and short range trips he has.

Anyway! In the early nineties there was a kick ass X-Men cartoon series released by Disney and it's coming out on dvd April 29, 2009 in two volumes with two discs for each volume. The title of the dvds are X-Men: Attack Of The Mutants and I'm soooo looking forward to this. The cartoon wasn't the best in terms of animation but they did a nice job with the characters and it was fairly accurate despite being played on Saturday mornings.

Plus Rogue and Storm were total love in this cartoon version. They were such an OTP it was hilarious.

Finally! Dina Meyer leather clad hotness as the one true Barbara Gordon actress is available on dvd. Of course, I've had it on burned dvd for awhile but this is legally released goodness that includes episodes of the hilarious Gotham Girls animation as a nifty extra.

What am I babbling about? Well, the subject and icon sort of gives it away but the cancelled WB show Birds of Prey which starred the fabulous Dina Meyer and the only slightly less fabulous Ashley Scott is finally coming out on dvd this July. Which makes me excited because I love the comic book and I adored the tv show even though it didn't at all follow comic book canon.

Of course, the love of the tv show has everything to do about Dina and Ashley and the loads of subtext they put into their characters relationship. Plus the fact that Dina Meyer is everything hotness and was completely wonderful as Barbara Gordon. She played Barbara exactly as I saw her and rocked much in the part.

Anyway, I'm very happy it's finally coming out for us few nerdy and loyal fans to Dina.
