I quit my job and my gf is mad at me yet again but I feel better about my life overall. I already have a few interviews for administrative positions, including one with a legal job placement agency tomorrow. They helped me get my first job with a law firm so I have good faith they'll be able to help me again. I'm not too worried about the job situation, I always seem to do well with finding new ones.

Although for the time being I'm sticking with administrative positions.

My parents are leaving for a cruise tomorrow. I've agreed to drive them to the airport. Their flight leaves at 6 am and since it's an international flight they're supposed to get at the airport two hours before their plane is scheduled to depart. Which means I'll have to wake up at 3 am to drive them there.

I'll be watching the house for them while they're gone. That should provide a nice respite from the still angry gf and maybe by the time they get back she'll be less angry. Plus Vlad loves running around their much larger backyard and he enjoys playing with Daisy. In the meantime I'll keep up my job search while working my way through all of my Star Trek Voyager dvds. I'm currently halfway through Season 4 which I'm happy about since that's the season Seven of Nine finally shows up in.

I do love Seven. Especially with Janeway.

Tomorrow I'll get back to work on the newest chapter of my Hermione/Luna fanfic. I have a loose ending for it plotted out and I need to finish the story so I can work on a few Janeway/Seven stories I have planned.

I went to Six Flags with my brother today and we rode on many a rollercoaster and water ride. The only coaster we didn't go on was Superman Tower of Power because Patrick said he found the idea of going straight up then down disconcerting and he rather not watch his perpetual death through mechanical falling. lol. So I guess I'll just have to go on that ride some other time with somebody else.

He leaves this Thursday with my parents for Arlington, Virginia where he's going to settle into his studio apartment before he starts up law school at American University in Washington D.C. in two weeks. I'm super big sister proud of him but I will admit I'm going to really miss having him around. It was nice having him being back in St. Louis for these past few months but I have the feeling once he graduates law school he's going to settle permanently in Virginia since he really seems to love that state. At least, he loves it far more than Missouri. Which is understandable. I mean, I love this state but I freely admit other ones majorly kick our ass in a lot of ways.

I want to live in South Dakota for all the awesome tourist traps. lol. But that's another post filled with inanity that I won't go into.

Six Flags was freakishly expensive but I was happy to note that Metro Station is playing there on August 5th so now I have yet another reason to use the expensive ass entry tickets that are good exactly six times to get into the park. Yayyyy for slightly less wasteful use of my money. Maybe I'll swindle the gf into going with me.

My brother is departing for Law School at American University in the beginning of August. His PowerBook has been acting up for quite awhile now because it's almost four years old and has been running through all his undergrad college years as his main computer. Playing World of Warcraft on a laptop for several years and leaving the laptop plugged in constantly doesn't exactly help extend the life of the computer but oh well, what can you do? College student and such.

Anyway! Because of these issues he's been wanting to get a new computer for when he goes off to law school and just use his laptop to take to class and the library for research. Being deemed the nerdy computer person in the family I was asked to go with my mother and him to the Mac store today. My mom paid for the computer but I'm writing her check for half the amount as it's going to be his early early early Christmas present from us.

Dude.

I have no idea why but I completely forgot the new iPhone came out today for purchase. I have no idea how this happened seeing as I have the current iPhone and because of that Mac has been emailing since they announced a new version release once a week to remind me I must be that much of a Mac addict to upgrade my phone just for faster interwebs access no matter the fact I get ten extra bucks tacked onto my wireless bill and no unlimited texting. Bah. I'll keep my current dinosaur iPhone thank you very much.

Though I do covet my brother's new iMac. Which is odd since it just has a faster processor than mine and is only a few months newer. I have 2.4 GHZ and his is 2.66 GHZ. Maybe because it seems shinier. My iMac, before I did a complete reboot, was doing this odd thing where it randomly turned itself off. Sucked ass. It seems to be fixed now.

Point of this story? None really but I shall do my best to fucking remember when there is a big release of shiny new toys I decide to visit the Mac store. Yeesh. They had a line that went almost to entrance of our mall and the Mac store is practically in the center. I was greatly amused by the two police officers they had stationed at the door. We were put into a smaller "non-iPhone customer" line to wait to come in.

Why must people have shiny new toys right away? I like to wait for the bugs to be worked out. I mean, I admit I get obsessive about seeing certain movies on their release date, such as The Dark Knight, but it doesn't seem wise to buy brand new technology on the day it comes out. Leave a bit of time for improvement.
