Germany seems bound and determined to make this filled with fabulousness and drama. Which is pretty damn cool to me. They have this edge of your seat duh duhn duhhhh music they play before everything starts. I guess Lena isn't performing the winning song from 2010 contest because she's also doing the entry for Germany this year and she needs to concentrate on that.

Eurovision final airs tomorrow May 14th! You can watch it streaming live on the official Eurovision website at 2 pm central time. You'll need to download an Octoshape plug in to get the video operating though.

Unless Maja Keuc from Slovenia does something drastically different tomorrow I'm awarding 12 points to her. Seriously, this is my favorite entry. I have a weakness for divatastic performances and this one is definitely that.

It's my favorite time of year. Eurovision time! Awww, yeah. Anyway. lol. The semi-finals air on May 10th and 12th while the finals are on May 14th. You can watch them streaming live on the interwebs at the official Eurovision website. You'll need to download an Octoshape plug in before you can watch it though, if it's anything like previous years but that's not a big deal. It's airing at 2 pm CST on all three days.

All right folks, it's time for another Eurovision. I must say right now that I really love the interwebs and Octoshape for without them I couldn't watch it live every year and for that I am grateful.

Onto the show! (That has the best interval performance EVER. )

Eurovision ruled as usual. Here goes my rambling recap as I watched it live. Be warned, I love Eurovision like a crackhead loves crack and I'm already drinking as I watch this with friends. So be prepared for a lot of nonsense thoughts coming from my initial reactions to what I'm seeing on the screen.

Eurovision has started! Yay! I'll post with a ton of videos and my rambling recap later tonight or tomorrow depending on how speedy all the Eurovision fans are with uploading the live final performances on YouTube. In the meantime, have some free songs from my favorite entries to the contest. It's sad how much I fucking love Eurovision but whatever. I shall not be ashamed of my joy for it.

Ukraine: Be My Valentine (Anti-Crisis Girl) by Svetlana Loboda

Turkey: Dum Tek Tek (Boom Bang Bang) by Hadise

And this has nothing to do with Eurovision but I've been listening to Lady Sovereign's new album constantly lately so I figured I would share my favorite track of the moment which is So Human.

The weekend of May 14-16 is when Eurovision 2009 airs and I can't wait. All the participants have been chosen and because I'm a sad freak of a fangirl about this song contest I'm posting videos for the entries I deem quality. What is quality? It's anything that's just fabulous and makes me giggle. I also love the super gay entries. There's a few honestly great songs in here as well.

Honestly, she does. Tamara Braun is a really good crier. Not a skill to be underestimated in the world of soaps. I'm actually going to link and babble about things not All My Children related and it might get long and thus...

This is my play by play review and/or reaction to Eurovision as it airs in all its glory. I'd advise to take it with a grain of salt since I watch this show for the quality and, well, I'm just typing down my inane thoughts on the show.

I'm just posting to say I love Malta immensely. This girl is way too hot and the song is a classic update of a cheesy wonderful catchy disco number. I'm insane but I love that sort of stuff plus... so pretty and black leather!

ETA: I'm quite liking Cyprus too.

Is taking place May 20th, 22nd, with the finals airing on May 24th. You can watch all of it streaming live thanks to Octoshape. The semi-finals and finals will air at 2 pm central standard time in the United States. For those of you who have jobs or non-Eurovision obsessed lives and can't watch it live you can visit the Eurovision official website where they'll have links to the previously aired semi-finals and finals. Most everyone will have to download the Octoshape plugin to watch it though. But no big deal because... hello! The quality that is Eurovision is so worth downloading one puny plugin.

I'm so fucking nerdy excited. I cannot wait for this Saturday and the viewing party.

For those of you who have Macs, it's more complicated to watch Eurovision streaming live. You have to go into your Octoshape settings and set them to the default player. Then you must have Windows Media Player 9.0 for Mac. When you click on the Eurovision link it will open up another web browser and start downloading the video file. Just copy and paste the url on the web browser that appeared for the web browser then go into Windows Media Player File - Open URL and paste the url in there and viola! You have Eurovision.

I know, I know, it seems like a pain in the ass but trust me it's so worth it.

It's little over a month until the fabulousness that is Eurovision airs and I can't wait to witness the quality live.

The Semi-Finals will be taking place on May 20th and May 22nd this year with the Finale airing on May 24th. For those who are sad like me and live in the United States which is ignorant of Eurovision's fabulousity you can watch it streaming live through a site called Octoshape.

Here are a slew of videos for the various artists that will be going to the Semi-Finals. Decide for yourself if they have what it takes to win the wacky Eurovision crown. Remember, they must be quality! lol. That is the most important factor above all else with Eurovision. That and to never be boring. For the love of Jeebus, never be boring.

Now onto the videos! )
