When people email me about my fanfic, I generally reply to them but when it comes to Livejournal (and especially Fanfiction.net) comments I don't respond for the most part. I've just read a lengthy discussion on one of the forums I lurk at where some established and pretty well known fanfic writers were saying to not reply to each and every comment they get is ungrateful and downright rude.

Really? I don't think that. I'm not sure what I would reply with anyway. Thank you over and over? I reply when I have something to say back to the person or they ask a question I have an answer to otherwise I just leave it.

Just wondering what other fanfic writers/readers on my friendslist or who read this LJ think about it.

Scrivener has a brand new update available for free for everyone who bought it after August 2010 and for just $25 if you got it before that. Also! For those who don't know of Scrivener and are Windows users, at long last they have a beta version of Scrivener for Windows.

It's honestly the best writing program I've ever used and has so many useful components from the outliner, the new collections option which allows you to organize character notes/first drafts/plots, and the import webpage option for research. There's also a neat new quick reference window which lets you open up external documents for additional research in a smaller window so you can remain in the writing program. I completely recommend this program for anyone who does any substantial amount of writing.

My brother is in law school (he graduates in May) and he was doubtful about the usefulness of this program until he downloaded it. Now he adores it because it makes organization so much simpler for his massive research papers.

I'm so happy I didn't end up with Dan Brown or Jane Austen.

I've decided to take a miniature break from the Whip It fanfic series I've been writing to write another fanfic featuring a romantic relationship between Iron Maven and Eva Destruction that spurs jealousy in Bliss and Rosa Sparks which causes them to finally act on their own feelings for the two women. It's an idea that was suggested by [livejournal.com profile] jsword on the [livejournal.com profile] ruthlessmaven community and I think it's a simply fabulous concept for a fanfic.

I do have one more fanfic planned for the Ruthless/Maven series but I don't know if there is going to be anything else after that. I think after years and years of having original stories in my head and being too chickenshit and lazy I'm going to actually give writing one a try. Whether I can get it published by a legitimate source and have a real book agent show interest in me is debatal but fuck it. I'm over thirty. I've wanted to write books professionally since I was a kid and I'm finally going to actually try and see if I can get it done. I owe myself to try at least.

Since I'm a sadly lazy person I know I won't be able to keep up writing extensive fanfic series at the same time as an original project I see as a book trilogy in my head. I'm not going to stop writing fanfic. I love it too much for that but I won't be writing it on a regular basis and I don't predict anymore long fanfic series from me for awhile if at all.

Anyway! There's that if anyone cares.
